  We live in a lovely village in Okayama Prefecture. There is a 100-year-old traditional Japanese house with tatami floors and a kotatsu (a heated table), and when you open the sliding doors, you can enjoy a beautiful view. There is also a bamboo forest, offering a great opportunity to experience the charm of the Japanese countryside.
  
  Your main role is to play with our two daughters (ages 9 and 11). They do not understand much English yet, so please use simple words when speaking to them. Our older daughter loves physical activities, so we especially welcome someone who enjoys being active and playing with her. Our younger daughter can be a little sensitive and may seem younger than her age. When she is in a bad mood, talking to her using her favorite stuffed toy usually helps her feel better.
  
  We would like you to speak as much English as possible with them. You do not need to have prior experience working with children—just a love for kids and an enjoyment of playing together is enough. We hope our daughters can learn about different cultures and values, so it would be wonderful if you could also share your skills with them.
  
  As we also host guests, you will be invited to join events where you can experience Japanese culture together. Depending on the season, there are various countryside activities:
  
  * Spring: digging bamboo shoots
  * Summer: joining local festivals
  * Autumn: harvesting fruits and making jam
  * Winter: cutting and burning bamboo
  
  You will stay in a wooden dormitory and sleep on a traditional Japanese futon. There is a well-equipped kitchen in the main house that you are free to use.
  
  Since we do not provide meals, the usual activity time is set at about 3 hours per day. However, on special occasions such as holidays or English camps, we may ask you to extend your helping time to about 5 hours for that day. In such cases, we will make adjustments—such as providing meals—and plan activities that everyone can enjoy without putting too much strain on your health. Thank you for your understanding.

  Travellers can experience Japanese culture through social interaction with Japanese family members as well as our neighbours. Travellers are welcome to share their skills and we are open to any suggestions you may have to contribute to the wellbeing of our home and village.
  Whilst taking part in our lifestyle, you can learn about Japanese and International culture, and travellers can enhance their interactive skills as well as their cultural background.

  Unterkunft

  At night, you will sleep in a capsule-style dormitory on a Japanese futon. It is a bit small, but this style helps provide as much privacy as possible. Please take care of your valuables by yourself.
  
  During the day, you can enjoy spending time in the 100-year-old traditional house, which has a shared outdoor kitchen and a Japanese-style common room. There is also a shared bathroom and a washing machine available for use.

  1. Our place is 1 hour bus ride +20min walk from Okayama station
  There are only 4 or 5 buses per day from Okayama station.
  
  2. The usual helping time is about 3 hours per day.
  Since we do not provide meals, you will need to buy and prepare your own food.
  Typical schedule: 3 hours a day, 5 days a week.
  
  On special occasions, such as events or holidays, we may ask for up to 5 hours of help in a day. In those cases, we will make adjustments—such as providing meals—and plan everything so it is not too demanding for you.
  
  3. No smokers please!
  
  4. Please bring your own daily necessities(shampoo, towel etc.)
  We will provide a futon, so you don't need bring a sleeping bag.
  
  5. There is a small store 2.3km away from our place.
  
  6. Please let us check your passport when you arrive.
  
  7. We cannot accept stays of less than two weeks.
  
  8. If you are not happy with this place or we are not happy with your behavior, your stay will be terminated.
