Beschreibung
My name is Bendict, and I am the executive director of the project, an indigenous NGO and non-profit organisation, operating in Western Uganda, based in Buhimba, Hoima.
The foundation is engaged in sectors such as education, women empowerment, health service promotion and environmental education. More specifically, our projects concern:
1. The running of a secondary school and the improvement of the quality of teaching and the infrastructures for better learning conditions. Also, sensatisation about different important subjects in primary school level.
2. The promotion of basic business skilling, entrepreneurship education and extension of microcredit to the enterprises of economically active poor women.
3. The training of communities through an agricultural program which promotes food security.
4. The provision of facilities for sanitation and access to safe drinking water through the WASH program.
Our NGO carries more than 10 years of experience, helps providing education to around 570 students every year and, until now, 9000 women have benefited from the microcredit program. It currently employs 24 teachers at our high school, 5 non-teaching staff and 9 NGO staff who coordinate field projects.
Our vision is to help as many communities as possible to have a better quality of life and a more sustainable future. We plan on expanding our projects by promoting sustainable energy and building a health center.
We would be glad to be boosted by the ideas and the good-willing of maximum 5 volunteers.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

3. Support sports development at High School.
4. Promote decent life-quality habits (nutrition, sanitation, family planning).

We have built two self-contained houses.
The first one has 3 bedrooms (each one has a double bed, a separate flush toilet and shower), one living room with a fridge and a TV, a little backyard and a room for the kitchen needs. It is located in a very calm place, in front of the main (tarmac) road around 10km (20 minutes) out of Hoima, in a village called Buhimba. There are some small shops 10 minutes away by walking.
The other one has one bedroom (and all the rest listed above). It is located 3km closer to Buhimba from the other house and is in the middle of a beautiful garden with fruit trees.
We offer 3 meals per day. Concerning the transportation, we have two motorcycles available for the organisation and a personal car.Was noch ...
- Concerning the visa, travelers can apply for it online (Ugandan Visitors’ Visa or East Africa Visa if you want to continue to Rwanda and Kenya), or even on arrival at Entebbe international airport.
- In case of need, an accommodation in a hotel can be arranged in Entebbe or Kampala for a night or two to get over jet lag.
- Our organisation can arrange for a private car to pick you up from the airport or any other close area.
- We would prefer if volunteers would be interested to stay from 2 weeks to 3 months.
- Depending on the volunteers’ stay duration, some days will be dedicated to orientation around our projects.Etwas mehr Information

In a period of 10 days they had already explored all our geographical locations and interfaced with quite a number of project beneficiaries. Not only that but also put in place strategies to continue to working relationship with our project. I hope next time you stay quite… read more
Benedict and David were amazing, they treated us very well, were always there for whatever we needed, easy to contact, very willing to show us anything and to listen to our ideas.
We mainly followed the women empowerment project through micro-credits, which seemed to have indeed changed… read more
