Hilary was very flexible with our working hours during hot weather, and she showed us around Herrera, a local market and took us to a night out around Herrera and Écija too. While I was away they looked after everything exceedingly well and stayed in regular contact with me during my time away. They continued to help in the garden (weather allowing!) and took very good care of the house and animals.

Chloe and Salvatore (Kelpie) are the most wonderful, fun, hardworking and delightful couple you could ever hope to host. I had five joyous weeks of enjoying their friendship, completed projects, sun, food, games and trips out.

Old bits of furniture and metal were restored and painted now providing colourful plants stands in the courtyard.
In their time off they sunbathed, played badminton and table tennis but also made me a notice board and bird house from used wine corks. Alongside of all this, they also did all the general chores of sweeping, mopping and lots of gardening as well as helping with shopping.
I can very heartily recommend them to future hosts and am very thankful they chose to workaway with me.

Ellen and Paula came to Ajonoz for a month or so with two friends. What a great time we had. They are so wonderful to be with and very hardworking, generous with their time and skills and certainly from my perspective, it was a very successful workaway visit.
My gardens and orchard are looking well cared for. There is a new chicken run (with now
… read more four happy chicks!) that they built, plus new pathways to the compost. They cleared away all the excess rubbish and Paula proved to be a most enthusiastic sawsmith of old wood. Consequently, we have been kept cosy and warm during the rather cold days with opportunities to enjoy games, wine and conversations during the colder evenings.
Ellen also worked with me in the kitchen preparing shared meals. She was great to work with and all were very appreciative of our culinary efforts.
I have no hesitation in recommending them to future hosts. I hope we will retain our contact and friendship and I'm sad our time together (this time!) has come to an end. I'm very grateful for all their help and hope we manage to meet up again in the future.

The house is beautiful, it's also big and comfortable so you will have privacy in it. It's been almost a month since we left this place and we still miss Hilary and the dogs and everything soo much. We definitely recommend Hilary as a host and a friend. <3

Due to timing commitments I could only stay with Hilary for two weeks during September 2022. However, during this short stay I had a very enjoyable stay and had the opportunity to do a lot of different things. I was lucky enough to be there when the almond and olive trees were ready for picking and learning how to process almonds and olives. I
… read more also got to see the large scale harvest of olives and almonds from Hilary's neighbouring farmers. Among other things I did was maintenance of the garden and cleaning of the swimming pool. I stayed in the 'casita' attached to Hilary's main house which was very private and spacious where I could relax and take shade from the afternoon sun. She was very accommodating for my vegan diet and cooked delicious vegan meals which we ate together. She also makes really tasty jams from the figs she grows and other fruits too. She taught me some new card games as well which was very fun. I also was introduced to a lot of her friends who were very friendly.
