  We are Dey and Cynthia, and we love sharing our roots and traditions. We are both Mexican. Dey was born and raised in Holbox, which makes her one of the few people originally from the island with authentic knowledge of its history, customs, and the magic that surrounds it.
  
  Here you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Mexican culture, learning about our festivities, cuisine, and way of life. We love cooking together and sharing stories, showing you the secrets of Holbox and those special places that only locals know about.
  
  More than just a work exchange, here you will have an enriching experience, where we will learn from each other and create unforgettable moments in this paradise.

  Somos Dey y Cynthia y nos encanta compartir nuestras raices y tradiciones. Ambas somos mexicanas. Dey nació y creció en ¡Holbox, lo que la convierte es una de las pocas personas originarias de de la isla, con un conocimiento autentico sobre su historia, costumbres y la magia que la rodea .
  
  Aquí tendrás la oportunidad de sumergirte en la cultura mexicana, aprendiendo sobre nuestras festividades, gastronomía y forma de vida.. Nos encanta cocinar juntos y compartir historias, mostrarte los secretos de holbox y esos rincones especiales que solo los locales conocen.
  
  Más que un intercambio de trabajo, aquí vivirás una experiencia enriquecedora, donde aprenderemos unos de otros y crearemos momentos inolvidables en este paraíso.

  Arbeit

  Here, we want every corner to feel welcoming and full of good energy. That's why we organise ourselves into 4-hour shifts each day (with flexibility depending on what is needed) so that we can all maintain the magic of the place. The tasks are simple but very important:
  
  Guest reception - Be the first friendly face travellers encounter, help them with check-in and share with them the most beautiful secrets of Holbox.
  
  General cleaning - Give us a hand with the rooms, bathrooms and common areas.
  
  Gardening and basic maintenance - Take care of our green spaces, remove dry leaves, and assist with maintenance details so that everything looks beautiful and harmonious.
  
  We request assistance for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week.
  
  Aquí apreciamos que cada rincón se sienta acogedor y lleno de buena energía. Por eso, nos organizamos en turnos de 4 horas al día ( con flexibilidad según lo que se necesite) para que entre todos mantengamos la magía del lugar. las tareas son sencillas pero muy importantes:
  
  Recepción de huéspedes- Sé el primer rostro amable que encuentran los viajeros, ayúdales con el check -in y comparte con ellos los secretos más lindos de holbox
  
  Limpieza general- Danos una mano con las habitaciones, baños y áreas comunes.
  
  Jardinería y mantenimiento básico- Dale cariño a nuestros espacios verdes, retira hojas secas y apoya con detalles de mantenimiento para que todo luzca bonito y en armonía.
  
  Solicitamos el apoyo durante 4 horas diarias en 5 días a la semana.

  Unterkunft

  What will your space or bedroom be like?
  You will have a comfortable and private corner to rest, with a single bed, fan, and electrical connection, so that you feel at home from day one.
  In addition, you will have a basic monthly pantry supply, including rice, beans, oil, oats, eggs, and more. This way, you will have the essentials on hand from day one.
  However, we do not include prepared meals, but you will have the freedom to cook your own way and add your own flavour.
  
  Cómo será tu espacio o dormitorio?
  Tendrás un rinconcito cómodo y privado para descansar, con cama individual, ventilador y conecxión eléctrica, pensando en que te sientas a gusto desde el primer día.
  Ademas, contaras con una despensa básica mensual, como arroz, frijol, aceite, avena huevos y más. Para que en el primer día tengas lo esencial a la mano.
  Eso si, no incluimos comidas preparadas pero tendrás la libertad de cocinar a tu estilo y darle tu propio sabor.
