We are a family of four (kids are 6 and 3) that chose a life learning from and with the rhythms of nature.
In the countryside of north-saxony, the region of Dübener Heide, we care for a piece of land with an historic water mill and a surrounding huge garden area. Although we almost finished a little farm house for our living, the more than 200 years old mill still needs restauration.
Right now our main focus is lying on building our soul projects of a wilderness school, a spiritual nature coaching business and an association to help re-build the water mill to a seminar venue while tending to our young kids - which we care for full time - and the land we are living on.
In our garden we grow some vegetables (although our main ressource of greens is from the CSR we take part in), fruits and herbs.
At the rigth time we want to add many more things to our life and projects such as a forest play group for kids (in progress), a forest kindergarten, learning about and implementing permaculture (hortus) principles wherever we can or help building a CSR in our rural area. We also would love to host cultural events as film screenings, small concerts and theater plays for the surrounding community now and then.

We love to give you some insights in our small farm living in a rural area of Germany with a great amount of ecological awareness. You can learn a thing or two about renovation of old buildings, fixing, maintaining or upcycling.
But mainly you might benefit from our background as wildernis and nature educators, get in deeper connection with nature and explore with us all the facettes of our earth's magic.
And if you want to learn the German language, we are happy to help you with that.
We need your help mainly in the following areas:
* building >> Right now we are working on building an extra space in the mill for the Volunteers and Workawayers. Your helping hands in finishing those rooms are very much appreciated. Or you might want to help building our new kitchen or some of the other rooms in our private house.
* gardening >> We grow some vegetables, but mainly fruits and herbs.
* harvesting (vegetables, fruits, flowers, herbs etc.)
*preserving food such as marmelades
*cooking food
* tending to our kids >> We choose to care for our kids full time and are tending to them without emotional or physical violence. This means we acknowledge and respect their needs, try to balance the needs that occur within our family and hold space for their own experiences and in processing their emotions. Since we don't live in a community right now and don't have a village arround us to help us caring for everything, we surely need time for ourself to regain strength and ease for all those tasks and challenges. Therefore, we appreciate your help a lot in accompanying our kids during the day.

Your home will be a comfortable camping trailer in our garden with an extra sleeping area, running water and 2-flame gas cooker. In the colder season the trailer can be heated. Water toilet and shower for our guests are provided within the mill.
We like to live together as in a comunity which seems to be the best method for us concerning meal preparation. That means you'll prepare your own breakfast and dinner, therefore you can use all the available food in our house.
We will prepare one warm meal during the day, mainly lunch and mostly vegetarian and with greens and fruits from organic farming (and sometimes including meat/fish from ethical sources). You are invited to share this work of cooking and bring in your ideas and hands from time to time.
Sometimes we also enjoy eating only by ourselves or in the circle of our family so while you are here we again and again have to figure out what suits us best during the day.
We live very close to nature, so it's best if you like to take walks in the woods, listen to old oaks, follow animal tracks or love to hike.
We can also offer a couple of bikes. The big river Elbe is quite nearby and is accompanied by a proper bike trail. 5 mins away there's a bus stop which connects you to the nearest towns Torgau and Bad Düben (both 20 mins.). But busses don’t run that often. From Torgau you can take the train to Leipzig (ca. 40 mins.)
We have internet/wifi but the access is very limited (limited data).
Our labrador dog Paula is curious and loves to play and work (she can be even annoying with that, but if you choose to ignore her, she'll understand at some point and will stop asking you to play with her), so even if she appears big and black she's just a clown with fur..
