Beschreibung
We are farmers living in the french part of Switzerland. We produce milk for the production of Gruyère cheese and own about 20 dairy cows. Our son Raoul (27 years old) is the manager of the farm. Our daughter Lucie (24 years old) is studying medicine at the University of Bern. Our older daughter Angèle (32 years old) is independent and lives in the town of Fribourg. We also have 5 cats and a large vegetable garden. The life on our farm is very animated and family oriented.
Nous sommes une famille d'agriculteurs suisses vivant dans la partie francophone. Avec une vingtaine de vaches laitières, nous produisons du lait pour la fabrication du gruyère. Notre fils Raoul (27 ans) est le gérant de la ferme. Lucie (24 ans) étudie la médecine à l’université de Berne. Notre fille Angèle (32 ans) est indépendante et vit en ville de Fribourg. Nous avons également 5 chats, un grand jardin potager et d'agrément. Notre exploitation est très vivante et familiale.

Travellers will experience farm life with all that it involves : a vegetable garden, animals, green space and nature. Most of the cultural interaction between the workawayer and our family will take place aroud the dining table during the meals we share all together. Our farm is a dynamic and convivial place, located on the edge of a small authentic Swiss village.
Les voyageurs vont faire l’expérience de la vie à la ferme avec tout ce que cela implique : jardin potager, animaux, espace, nature. Les échanges culturels se font surtout autour de la table lors des repas que nous prenons ensemble. Notre ferme est un lieu vivant et dynamique, situé en bordure du village.

Arbeit
The workawayer(s) will mostly assist the lady of the house in her daily tasks : cook for 4-8 people every day, cleaning, garden maintenance and other assignments. We cook fresh and healthy food with vegetables from our garden or from the farmer's market. All our food is mainly organic (if possible).
Les bénévoles vont surtout assister la maîtresse de maison dans ses tâches quotidiennes : cuisiner pour 4-8 personnes, faire le ménage, entretien du jardin et d'autres missions. Nous cuisinons une nourriture fraîche, saine, du jardin ou du marché, si possible bio.

Unterkunft
The traveller will stay in an independant bedrooms on the 1st floor of our farmhouse and will have access to a WC and shower on the ground floor, to share with our young agricultural apprentice. A large backyard is also accessible.

We live in a region full of nature and known for its scenic hiking routes, rivers and medium mountains. Tourist places such as Gruyères, Broc with its chocolate factory and the Swiss capital Bern, are not far away. The medieval town of Fribourg is also worth a visit. The workawayer can also rest in the surroundings of the farm. We can give our advice to discover the region but do not accompany the workawayer during his leisure time. The workawayer is responsible for the expenses incurred for the activities, but we can provide him with a take-away meal (picnic). Week-ends are days of rest in Switzerland and therefore also days off for the wokawayer. There is also a possibility to do the loundry. Our farm is accessible by bus from Fribourg and Bulle.
Nous habitons une région de randonnées, de nature, de rivière, de moyennes montagnes. Les lieux touristiques comme Gruyères, Broc avec sa fabrique de chocolat, Berne, ne sont pas loin. Fribourg est une très jolie ville à visiter. Le workawayer peut aussi se reposer aux alentours de la ferme. Nous donnons nos conseils pour découvrir la région mais n’accompagnons pas le workawayer durant ses loisirs. Les activités payantes sont à sa charge, mais nous fournissons le repas à emporter durant les loisirs à l'extérieur (pic-nic). Les week-end sont des jours de congé et donc de loisir pour le workawayer. Possibilité de faire la lessive. Accessible en bus depuis Fribourg et Bulle.
