I am living in a village in uttarakhand. I wish to introduce and develop a model for sustainable living in and around my village. My dream is to live in harmony with nature with a minimalist and healthy lifestyle. At this initial stage my focus is on promoting earthen buildings and natural farming in the region. With this I would like to work on small-scale innovations, utilizing renewable sources of energy and help local entrepreneurs to go green.

This initiative is banking on community driven sensibility. I want to connect with more like-minded people and work together to full-fill our goal. We welcome your involvement, whatever your interests and skills may be.

I have moved to a village Malsain very recently. My initial focus is on setting up basic infrastructure and simultaneously work on fallow farms. Since the project is in its infancy stage at the moment, we expect volunteers to bring their ideas and experience to help us this project together. Right now we are constructing a mud house for our volunteers and developing a food forest around it. So construction, gardening cooking and cleaning would be the major area of help expected from volunteers.

For now we have taken care of basic amenities like toilet and kitchen. For accommodation we have 1 house that can accommodate 2 volunteers and 1 tents that can accommodate 1 volunteers.

As we are in our initial phase of this project, right now we do not have the financial means to provide free food for participants. The accommodation is in exchange for 15 works hours a week and a minimum stay of one week.
Volunteers can choose any of the following option for food:

    1. Bring their own vegan/vegetarian food for their duration of stay.
    2. Source their own vegan/vegetarian food locally, from the village, which is a 20-minute from the farm.
    3. They can choose to Participate in daily meals [healthy and tasty vegan/vegetarian with lots of fruits, nuts, vegetable salads, etc. - thrice a day] that are prepared by all members and contribute ₹225 - ₹550 on a sliding scale toward the daily meals. Please note that this payment goes entirely toward the food and is not used for the projects operational expenses. Any additional amount incurred for food is borne by us. This is not mandatory.

Any Kind of Intoxicants are strictly prohibited. Volunteers are expected to respect the local culture. There are lot of small one day hikes all around and some really beautiful villages. Some very beautiful treks of around 14-15 k feet treks can be explored in a 2-3 day time. Srinagar and Pauri are the nearest big towns. Khirsu is the closest well know tourist destination from the village. From Khirsu a shared taxi can be taken to reach the destination in 30 minutes.
