Beschreibung
We (man, woman,54 and 55 years old) have just bought a Spanish farm with an mandarin yard which we want to convert to a food forest (syntropic farming). Besides that, we want to convert some stables to living space, as well as the old house. We are experienced in building works, DIY, technical projects. It is such a great project, our new future, but we just have 4 hands ... ;) We hope to welcome international workaway guests to give us a hand.
We love to learn about other cultures, languages and have welcomed already many internationals in our former life in The Netherlands. Now we are continuing that in our new project in Spain.
My husband is a technician and I am a orthomolecular nutrition therapist. We normally eat a healthy meal with meat, poultry, fish and vegetables.
We find it important that our workaway guests are non-smokers.

We live in a rural area, but only 9 min by car from the beautiful beach and boulevard of Vinaros, a very kind small town. 40 min up north is a well-known kite-beach (Rapita), there are wonderful mountains inland, a resevoir with beach. In august it is normally about 30-34 degrees celsius. There is a (famous) pittoresque village Peniscola just 25 min from here. There is the possibility to do all kinds of watersports there. You can mountainbike inland, or take different routes nearby.
Bicycles available to go to town/beach.
We speak English, Dutch, German, basic French and beginners Spanish.
We work 5 days a week from 8.00-13.00, the rest of the time is all yours.

Arbeit
We just bought our farm, so we are still in the starting phase. Good ideas are welcome!
Our own experience and activities are in learning to be farmers.
We would love to get a helping hand with our day to day activities. We do everything ourselves, but a pair of extra hands would be very welcome.
We would love to get help from people with experience/knowledge in :
- setting up a ecological vegetable garden near our house (big greenhouse is already set up)
- changing our manderin orchard into a syntropic forest

Unterkunft
A comfy tent is ready for you in the olive orchard (2 beds, terras with chairs and table). There is a toilet/shower building. (No fire allowed.) You can use the washing machine.
There will be bread, cheese, marmelade, charcuterie, milk, yoghurt and eggs available for breakfast and dinner (you make it yourself). Lunch will be made to eat together: a warm meal with meat/fish/poultry, vegetables and potatoes/pasta/rice.

It is a great environment. We are just 9 minutes from sea and beach by car. Nice town nearby (7 min) with everything you need. We live in the farming area just outside town, so quiet and airy. The nearby town has a trainstation; trains go north and south along the coast (direction Barcelona, direction Valencia/Alicante). There are bicycles available to get to town/beach.
