  Hi, my name is Slamet and I live in Bondowoso East Java
  
  I am involved in several community activities related to Ijen Geopark, sustainable tourism, environmental education and waste management, and I would like to welcome travellers who want to experience real Indonesian life while sharing their knowledge, language and culture with us.
  This is not a hotel, resort or commercial volunteer project.
  It is a small, personal exchange.
  You stay with local people in village , experience everyday life in Bondowoso, meet local people and discover the Ijen landscape. In return, you can share your culture, language, skills and ideas with us.
  
  I am especially interested in meeting people who are curious about environment, education, sustainable tourism and cultural exchange.
  
  *️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️Important! This is a small town, so please be respectful in your clothing (no shorty shorts or skimpy mid-driff showing tops, or spaghetti strap tops, but regular shorts and tank tops are ok). NONE of my guests have had problems before, but I wouldn’t want anyone to be surprised.
  
  Not especially difficult to get to or out of the way because my town is along the path between major points of interest on Java island, so most people go from Yogja to Mt Bromo to Ijen Crater to Bali . You would simply stop over for a few days or a few weeks in Bondowoso!

  I hope you leave Bondowoso with more than photographs, Perhaps you will remember a conversation with a student who was nervous to speak English.
  Perhaps you will remember learning how local people process coffee.
  Perhaps you will understand Ijen as more than a crater.
  Perhaps you will leave behind an idea for dealing with organic waste.
  Or perhaps we will simply have shared food, stories and a few good conversations.
  That is what I believe Workaway should be about.
  You bring something from your world.
  We share something from ours.
  And both of us leave with something new.

  There are several ways you can contribute during your stay.
  You don't have to do everything. We can choose activities according to your interests, skills and experience.
  
  🗣️ 1. Help young Indonesians become more confident in English
  
  Several schools in Bondowoso have asked me whether I can help bring international volunteers to their schools so that students can practice speaking English with someone from another country and become more confident using a foreign language and give students a chance to actually use English with a real international visitor.
  it is much simple activity, You might: talk with students in English, introduce yourself and your country;
  tell stories about your culture and travels; play simple conversation games; help students practice English;
  encourage shy students to speak; share photos, music, food or traditions from your country.
  You don't need to be a professional teacher.
  
  🌋 2. Discover and help tell the story of Ijen Geopark
  
  I am also involved in activities connected with Ijen Geopark, particularly in the Bondowoso area.
  Many visitors know Ijen mainly because of its famous crater, But Ijen is much more than a tourist attraction.
  It is a landscape where geology, biodiversity, water, forests, agriculture, culture and local communities are connected.
  I want to help people understand this bigger story, Depending on your skills, you may help us with:
  photography;
  video;
  storytelling;
  English-language information;
  tourism content;
  social media;
  website content;
  ideas for visitors;
  documenting local places and culture.
  You don't need to be a geologist, Curiosity is more important.
  And if you are interested, I can introduce you to the Ijen landscape from a local perspective rather than simply taking you to the most famous tourist viewpoint.
  
  🌱 3. Help us develop better organic waste management
  This is the area where I am especially interested in meeting people with real experience or strong interest in environmental work.
  I am developing ideas about sustainable waste management, particularly organic waste, I would love to meet people who have experience with:
  
  food waste;
  organic waste processing;
  circular economy;
  community waste systems;
  sustainable agriculture;
  environmental education;
  waste reduction.
  
  Perhaps you have ; worked on a community composting project. studied environmental science, work in a restaurant and know about food waste, developed a simple waste system in your own community.
  If you have practical knowledge, I would love to learn from you.
  
  "Come here, share what you know, and help us think about practical solutions that can work in our community."
  Even a small idea, experiment or improvement can be useful.
  
  🤝 4. Cultural exchange
  This is at the heart of the whole experience.
  I don't want Workawayers to come to Bondowoso simply to complete a list of tasks, but I want us to learn from each other.
  You can experience:
  everyday Indonesian life, Madurase and Javanese culture, local markets, traditional food; local coffee culture; village life; local communities; Indonesian daily activity.
  And I would love to learn about your country, your culture, your food, your traditions and your way of life.
  If you are interested in learning Indonesian, I can also help you with everyday words and expressions.
  In return, I would really appreciate opportunities to practice English.
  So this is a two-way exchange.
  
  I would especially welcome people who are:

  Especially people who enjoy talking with students and communities and helping them become more confident.

  Photography, video, writing, graphic design, social media and website skills can be useful.

  You want to meet local people and experience everyday life rather than simply visit tourist attractions.
  
  You should be curious, respectful, independent and willing to share.
  
  You don't need to have every skill listed above.
