Hi!
If you're looking for a unique travel experience, I’d love to invite you to stay with me in the heart of Jambi City. I work as a government translator and interpreter, and in my free time, I host a small, casual English class at home and help out at local public schools. I love welcoming travelers to join classes just to chat, share stories, and hang out with the students. It’s completely informal and always a lot of fun for everyone involved.
What life here looks like:
Your Space: You’ll have your own private, air-conditioned room with a private bathroom at my house. You’ll also have access to reliable internet, a self-service laundry area, and the kitchen, where you can prepare certain types of meals. The space is comfortable and gives you the freedom to manage your daily routine independently.
Daily Hangouts: My friends and I run a cozy little coffee shop and restaurant next door. You can hang out there, relax, do your own work, or inspire us with light ideas if you ever feel like picking up a shift for fun.
Home Project: If you enjoy organizing, I could definitely use a hand redecorating and sorting through my clutter at home! One unique experience you can enjoy in Jambi is creating your own Eco-Tik, an innovative combination of ecoprint and traditional Jambi batik techniques run by a good friend of mine. At Batik Jambi Berkah, visitors can learn how to create Eco-Tik using natural elements such as leaves and flowers, while exploring traditional batik-making techniques. This hands-on activity allows travelers to create their own unique textile while learning about Jambi’s cultural heritage and sustainable fashion practices.
Leisure & Culture: We can play tennis with my club a few times a week, try out Jambi's amazing local food, and visit the nearby Muaro Jambi temple complex—the largest ancient Buddhist temple site in Southeast Asia.
Extra Perks: Since I travel for my translation work, you’re welcome to tag along on my work trips around the region whenever it's possible. Occasionally, my friends might also invite you to be a guest speaker at local events to share your solo travel adventures.
Everything is completely flexible and voluntary, no strict schedules or heavy work. Just come as a friend, share your culture, and experience Jambi like a local.

I stayed in Jambi for almost a week and learned so much about Indonesia and all its habits.
Even though Lukman wasn't there, his friend Fauzan hosted me as if I was family.
He showed me around in the city and taught me a lot.
I have to admit that I was a bit overwhelmed by everything, it was my first week in Indonesia and … read more
