    Welcome
We have moved to this lovely lifestyle property of 5 acres in 2014. Since then we have repaired and reinstated previous infrastructure, started to renovate the house and have increased the vegetable growing areas. We have various projects on the go such as further fencing, converting the orchard to a food forest . We run chicken, some sheep and have a cat and a dog. We are essentially a hobby farm, mostly focussed on producing high integrity food for ourselves and also to share with friends, using Permaculture inspired techniques. We are not a commercial farm.
There is a double room with a double bed in the house for helpers. We are working on creating more accommodation for helpers as an ongoing project. (Creative input into this project is welcome)
Mostly organic home cooked meals, home baked bread.

Waipawa which means "Misty River" is a small Central Hawkes Bay town of about 1700 souls. We are in walking distance to the main road with the museum, coffee shop, library and supermarket.
The river is only a few minutes walk away and the stopbank is a good jogging track.

When staying with us there will be opportunities to learn about permaculture, food forests, diversity, high density planting, propagating, mulching and greenmulching, soil building, medicinal plants, harvesting, preserving and much more.

We are new to workaway, so have no reviews yet, but have hosted well over a hundred volunteers over several years from a different platform.

We enjoy producing a great part of our food ourselves as a hobby and hope our helpers would enjoy supporting us with that, whilst getting the opportunity to learn about this lifestyle.

Platz zum Abstellen von Camper Vans

We have had several volunteers here with converted cars and campervans and there is enough parking for them, however big commercial mobile home type campers would have trouble getting up our drive, which is narrowed by a hedge and some protruding tree branches.
