Vom Host für Workawayer (Ilaria)
Somewhat shyly as we picked Ilaria up from A Coruna airport. It was her first Workaway and she was looking forward to
it. We soon heard that this lady had broad interests in the world, nature, animals andother cultures. She enjoys cooking, walking, working and taking care of the animals. After 2 days her colleague Workaway Alexandria (Alex) came

turned out to be a hit. The two ladies worked together and very hard. The question of whether anything could be
done was regularly asked. Team work!!
During their free time they liked to go for walks through all the villages and forests
around us. She loved Floyd our dog and enjoyed taking care of the 3 chickens.
(Tok, Tok and Tok)
She is also a great cook and a very
pleasant person to have around.
For us, Ilaria is a winner and we would
love to have her back!
For us she deserves a 10+

I have spent 2 wonderful weeks with Patty, Hans and the tender and faithful Floyd!
They were very helpful and kind and the place is surrounded by nature, in the air you can smell the essence of eucalyptus trees from the nearby forest, so regenerating!
During my stay I had my own room and a bathroom shared only with another workaway.
Patty is a

We did some work in the garden to prepare the soil for sowing. Hans taught me how to use the chainsaw, the brush cutter and the right way to split wood. I had lot of fun with it! We made aldo some beautiful terracing in the orchard using natural materials such as wood and bark from the eucalyptus trees.
Patty showed us how to recognise certain herbs and trees and how to use them. We also collected some herbs on a trip to the coast and some seaweed to use as compost. We prepared a delicious lemonade with their lemons and also made a lemon hydrolate.
At the weekend, we visited a few seaside villages in the surrounding area.
We also spent time with friends of theirs who came to visit, having dinner all together on the beautiful outdoor terrace under a sky full of stars.
We had very fun moments!! :)
It was an enriching experience in which I learnt new things and which opened me up to the desire to deepen my knowledge.
Thank you again for everything! 🙏🏻Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Energy, that's what you feel when Alexandria (Alex) arrives at our estate. A feisty lady who, like most Americans, has
difficulty keeping her mouth shut. An all-rounder, easy to deal with people and animals. Sporty and challenging, she
doesn't turn down any opportunity and quickly picks up various equipment such as the brush cutter, chainsaw and

Laughed and danced a lot with her, also talked a lot seriously. She soon became
friends with Floyd the dog. She is an asset to the Work Away organization who shows
what you can expect from a Workawayer. She also deserves a 10+
We also hope to see her again soon.
Big kiss from Floyd, Tok, Tok, Tok, Patty
and Hans!
I have learned and done so much during my time here at Patty and Hans' (but the real boss is Floydtje, their sweet dog)! I'm very grateful I could stay here.
After breakfast, Patty or Hans would show the other workawayer and myself the task to be done. We worked on weeding, creating terraces for the plants, constructing "vineyards" for the grapes
… read more and kiwis, cutting fire wood, clearing brambles, and attending to the three hens. It was always relaxed, with a coffee break and time to enjoy the surroundings. On rainier days, we took lemons to peel and squeeze for lemonade and experimented trying to make citronella oil.
Patty cooked so many lovely meals that were healthy, fresh, and tasty. They were garnished with beautiful plants from the garden that added an extra touch to everything. The other workawayer and I got to prepare a few meals to help out and share our cultures too.
We also got to go to the beach a few times, where Patty showed us more edible plants and we collected seaweed for the compost. It was a lot of fun. We also got to visit a nearby town one Saturday which was a treat. Ilaria and I took walks around the area to see the waterfalls and enjoy nature.
Their house is beautiful and I couldn't believe I got to sleep in such a nice room. Ilaria and I shared the bathroom and had a nice common area to relax after dinner. I look forward to seeing them again! Dank je wel en tot zien!

Patty and Hans are the sweetest, kindest and funniest hosts you will find.
I had the fortune of spending 9 days with them in which Patty taught me to recognizes different herbs, plants and mushrooms and Hans taught me to use the chainsaw and other cool practical jobs.
We mainly cut wood, picked a lot of chestnuts, walnuts and apples and started

Their place is totally magical, a little fairy land on the edge of the eucaliptus forest, the house is lovely and cosy and the food is delicious.
If you ever end up there you will feel so lucky! Thanks for everything ♥Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.
