    Beschreibung

We are a couple and we live in a small valley near Galicia, along the Saint James Way
( world-famous, 750-kilometre pilgrimage route also known as the Camino de Santiago) where we live in the nature peacefully.
We would like to achieve two main projects: eco gardening and a house open to pilgrims base on donation. We have a big vegetable garden (depending on the year) and flower garden. Besides we have a library where peaple can read and even practise yoga.
We live in a pretty valley with a small river passing through. Our village has 20 inhabitants, but is full of pilgrims and tourists during the summer months.
We are compelled by maintaining an environment that brings together pilgrims, locals, and Workaways.
We form an awesome team, and we are looking for people who love to be in nature in a quiet place with a lot of time for themselves and very independent.
We are vegetarians, and we eat vegetarian food at home, and we are trying that in the summer our food could come from our garden.
We have a limited internet access at home, but there are bars where you can use Wi-Fi.

If you help us in the albergue, and you would like to arrange a payment (according to the minimum wage in Spain per every hour of qualified help and according to the Spanish laws) you will have to pay for your own food.

Only contact us if you are full of energy, sociable, enthusiasm and enjoy helping out no because of the payment please!
Minimum stay of one month and at least 23 years old and knowledge of cooking is required.

I am dreaming of a world where people take care of our environment, and of a place where we can share more and be ourselves.

We open the doors of our home to pilgrims base on donation, so we are looking for humble people who like talking and also giving. We offer a positive experience base on a cultural exchange.

Furthermore, we attempt to live as conscious as possible, taking our personal responsibility for our actions. Taking care of our personal energy to communicate needs and wishes! We should think more in the others and not so much in ourselves. And on the other hand, we practice the art of listening.

We offer an international and rural experience at the same time. It is a great place to learn Spanish and to connect with the Spanish culture through the locals. To feel integrated you need to be sociable, open and to speak a little Spanish.

Although it is very rural, there are some bars and some folk music and concerts around.

    Arbeit

There are lots of possibilities to integrate yourself in this project. Let me list up some ideas: help out in the garden, help out in the albergue, cooking, painting new signs, informing and assisting pilgrims, updating and maintenance of the social media…

We are looking for someone with initiative, motivated, responsible, flexible (very important for us) and independent.

We frequently have friends and family around, so Workawayers have to be sociable and flexible.

You need to know how to cook well.

We provide 3 meals in a vegetarian albergue in a peaceful village on the Camino de Santiago, which itself crosses Spain from East to West, attracting people from all over the world and from all ways of life.

The food is vegetarian, basic, and you will cook for yourself. Some experiences in cooking and doing dishes are extremely required. We highly appreciate people with good knowledge in cooking.

Workaways share a room with 2 bunk beds. We usually have between 2 and 3 helpers.

The room is mixed for boys and girls. It's an old stone house in a valley, so expect cold and fresh air every day, even in summer. We turn on the heating just in winter, so please bring the necessary to keep you warm, sleeping bag, jacket and don't bring a big suitcase because the space it's limited. You should bring your sheets, towels, soap, boots and warm clothes. The toilet is outside the room.

Our house has a beautiful view of a valley with a river that crosses it.
There are 4 bars and restaurants in this tiny village, and there is a small shop 3 km away.

  • Was noch ...

    Was noch ...

We live with two cats and we have chickens. I love them!!

We enjoy going out, meeting friends, having some dinner at home, dancing…
You will meet interesting travelers from all over the world. You could also spend time meeting locals and practice your Spanish.

Enjoy the green and beautiful environment, playing guitar, reading, meditating ….
    There are beautiful hikes.

The nearest city is about 40 km Ponferrada, but unfortunately there are no many buses running to there.

If you love nature, peace, and freedom.

In the village in front of the albergue you can park your caravan. It would be in a public space where it's allowed to park, but you will have to change spots every few days.
