  Hey there -
  
  We discovered this beautiful island in 2007, while travelling around Mexico for the first time, searching for colors, new experiences, tastes and feelings. Our hostel is a familiar place opened in 2010 on the remote island of ‘Holbox’.
  
  The hostel was built from scratch and most of the furniture, details, paintings were made with a lot of love and a HUGE help by our volunteers during all these years. We always wanted to create a different hostel, not just a place where people sleep... but a place that makes people smile every time they think about it.
  
  This is a vibrant and colorful place, with a lot of plants and great people on a tiny paradise in Mexico!!
  
  Our mission is to transform holidays here into an EXPERIENCE where guests from all over the world help us create a space filled with music, art & culture. We also have a nice bar that offers different activities every night: jam sessions, movie nights, live music, quiz nights, giant Jenga, dress-up parties and projects more to be done. Reason why we accept volunteers all year long :)

  Minimum age is 23, please don`t message if you`re younger than that (does not apply to yoga teacher or chef).
  
  ▶▶VERY IMPORTANT: Please check the schedule before you message us. If the color is red, we dont need more volunteers. If we need more people last minute, we will change the color again.
  
  ▶▶We only plan about 2 weeks in advance so please only message us 2-3 weeks before you want to come to holbox. We get lots of messages every day and lose overview otherwise. Also, we need people who are flexible with the dates, as last minute changes can occur. Ideally you are already in the country when you message us and will be in Mexico for a longer period of time.
  
  When you message us, put "PART OF THE TEAM" as your first sentence so we can make sure you have read our profile description.
  
  We are looking for a dedicated ☛“social butterfly” ☚This could involve organising trips to the beach, sunset beers or getting a group together for a night out.
  
  The perfect volunteer is someone who loves interacting with people, is highly energetic, flexible and able to communicate in English and Spanish to rally our guests together to have the best time possible. We will also need you to do some flyering in the evenings.
  
  
  Almost all the staff is from México, so you will be around all the Mexican culture and family :D

  I am Daria (Mexican), the person in charge of activities and volunteers.
  I’m the one who coordinates the activities of the week and creates the volunteers' schedules. I also welcome and show the facilities to the new members of the tribe. Additionally, I solve and answer any questions they may have, and I’m completely open to new ideas and innovative proposals they may bring.

  Holbox is a wild island with sandy beaches, where people who enjoy nature will really appreciate.
  
  The hostel has fantastic facilities, we have two full kitchens, dining rooms, a hammock area, as well as a bootcamp area and a volleyball court.
  
  Our guests as well as the volunteers are from all over the world, so there is a lot of exchange of culture, languages and food, as we promote a social and friendly environment so that your experience is enriching!
  
  Every week various activities are planned and carried out (at least 3 per day). Several of these activities are workshops or classes where you learn to dance salsa, cook, calisthenics, prepare cocktails, yoga. There are also guided tours of the island and its surroundings to explore this wonderful paradise without limits.
  
  Lunchtime is also fantastic, as meals from various parts of the world are usually cooked and you can always learn foreign cuisine.

  Holbox es una isla salvaje con playas de arena, donde las personas que disfrutan de la naturaleza realmente apreciarán.
  
  El hostel tiene unas instalaciones fantásticas, contamos con dos cocinas completas, comedores, zona de hamacas, además de bootcamp área y cancha vóleibol.
  
  ¡Nuestros huéspedes al igual que los voluntarios son de todas partes del mundo, entonces hay mucho intercambio de cultura, lenguajes y comida, ya que promovemos un ambiente social y amistoso para que su experiencia sea enriquecedora!
  
  Todas las semanas se planean y realizan actividades varias (al menos 3 por día). Varias de estas actividades son talleres o clases donde se aprende a bailar salsa, cocinar, calistenia, preparar cocteles, yoga. También hay paseos guiados por la isla y sus alrededores para que exploren este maravilloso paraíso sin límites.
  
  La hora de la comida también es fantástica, pues suelen cocinarse comidas de varias partes del mundo y siempre se puede aprender gastronomía extranjera.

  Without our volunteers, this would not be a great place, that's why we welcome volunteers of different nationalities even before we open our doors!
  
  For us, a volunteer is like a guest who will bring life to the hostel and part of the family that works to provide the best memories for everyone.
  
  The help consists of 3 hour shifts, 5 days a week, in exchange for accommodation in a shared dormitory.
  The tasks to be performed are varied, among them are: Maintenance support, gardening, leading activities with guests, Yoga.
  
  And as an incentive for your hard work, we will provide you with half price drinks at the bar and other staff benefits.
  
  We ask for a minimum of 6 weeks stay. The minimum age is 23 years old.

  Sin nuestros voluntarios, este no sería un gran lugar, ¡es por eso que damos la bienvenida a voluntarios de diferentes nacionalidades incluso antes de abrir sus puertas!
  
  Para nosotros, un voluntario es como un huésped que le dará vida al albergue y parte de la familia que trabaja para brindar los mejores recuerdos de todos.
  
  La ayuda consiste en turnos de 3 horas, 5 días a la semana, a cambio de alojamiento, ubicado en un dormitorio compartido.
  Las labores a desempeñar son variadas, entre ellas, están estas: Apoyo en mantenimiento, Jardinería, Liderar actividades con los huéspedes, Yoga.
  
  Y como incentivo por su arduo trabajo, le brindaremos bebidas a mitad de precio en el bar y otros beneficios para el personal.
  
  Pedimos un mínimo de 6 semanas de estancia. La edad mínima es de 23 años.
