We have just recently purchased the ranch and will be putting into place some amazing accommodations starting this fall. For over the past 20 years the ranch has been offering tourists the possibility to explore Ecuador on horseback. it was offering lead 1 – 6 days riding tours through stunning landscapes in and around the only truly inhabited volcanic crater in the world
In order to support our new growth, the logistics, the necessary preparatory work, the constant horse training, but most of all the daily work at the ranch, like building, feeding, cleaning, field work, pasture maintenance etc, we regularly look for horse-experienced volunteers, who would like to help us out for at least 2 months and bring a lot of dedication. We currently do not have a horse wrangler and would love to offer rides again. If you are a fully experienced rider with years of experience in training, caring, breaking and handling multiple horses and riders that would be a huge plus.
With all that being said, we are currently adding campsites, heated showers, restrooms and implementing rock climbing trails, hiking trails from the property to the warm springs at the bottom of the cannon that runs parallel to the property.
In the fall we will start the construction of a very large 2-story Viking longhouse with an Ecuadorian feel. We will be building aircrete dome homes for our guests future accommodations.
The ranch is currently run by the manager Ayquel and one of the ranch hands Renato. Ayquel is fluent in English and Spanish and very competent in the workings of travel and accommodations. Renato is a very experienced graphic artist and recently learned the craft of brewery from Colombia.
