  It's hard for us to plan more than 2 months in advance, so we will periodically open our applications in 1-2 month windows. Due to the number of requests, we may not be able to respond immediately. We appreciate your understanding.

  Hi! I am Fuki ,a 24 y/o Japanese girl.
  
  I run a tiny alternative school with my friends in the country side of Shiga (a prefecture next to Kyoto).
  We provide kids who don't go to public school, a place to meet other kids, opportunity to experience a lot of things like cooking or creating something from wood, playing in nature, and learning basic skills to live and basic studying.
  Recently in Japan, there are about 300,000 kids who don't go to school because of bullying or schools being too stressful for them .
  We think Japanese education is sometimes too strict and it's really stressful for some kids.
  And also, there are not enough places or opportunity for kids if they don't go to the public school , so their only choice is just stay home often.
  
  They needed a place to go, so we started our school in 2021. We have around 10 kids everyday between 6 to 15 y/o. We are still improving in a lot of ways and not perfect, but we see our students growing so much.
  
  We want our students to meet people from around the world, learn about different cultures and languages.
  So you just being here is very helpful. We will probably ask you to talk about your home and life to kids, play with them, help them to do daily things.
  
  You will stay with me, and you will have your own room.
  
  I love traveling, meeting new people and talking with them!
  I'm interested in sustainability and education.
  
  I'm happy to show you around the town and introduce you to local people!
  Please come stay with us and experience things that you cannot as just a tourist.

  You can learn a lot about kids, Japanese education, and of course japanese language and culture. I'm happy to teach you how to cook japanese food or anything I know.
  I'm happy to show you around if we have enough time!

  Arbeit

  Talk about your home country and your life in front of students.
  Play with kids.
  Help kids to do daily things.
  Teach kids whatever you know.
  
  You will stay at the school around 5 hours everyday during weekdays. But what you do won't be so hard, just spending time with kids.
  You can do whatever you want to do on the weekend.

  Unterkunft

  You will stay at my house with my roommate and me, but you will have your own room. It's a Japanese-style house.
  30-40 mins on foot from the center of the town where the super market, the library or other shops are. You can also use my bike.
  This town has about 20,000 people, beautiful nature and a lot of traditions.
  
  Workawayers can have lunch at school. For breakfast and dinner I will cook at home and we can eat together.

  Was noch ...

  For safety reasons, we ask you to have a video call with us before we decide if we accept you or not. Also we ask you to give us a copy of your passport.
  Since this is a place for children, we will ask you to follow some rules to protect them.
  
  Minimum stay will be 2 days, and maximum one week.
  But we can be flexible, so please contact us!
  
  Since I'm hosting you at my house, I prefer to host wemen.
  (But if you have really interesting experience in education, I might host you anyway .)
