Hello everyone, Welcome to Vernou. My name is Julie, and 7 years ago, I was designated as heir to a hunting estate in Sologne. My convictions and my past experiences pushed me to transform the place into an antispeciesist sanctuary in a region more than hostile to the animal cause. Today we welcome several dozen animals: goats, sheep, cows, horses, donkeys, pigs and wild boars, as well as cats, and the two dogs of the family. We are trying to recreate an area of semi freedom, without animal exploitation, on the 70 hectares of the property. The maintenance of animals occupies a major part of our days, however we have projects of vegetable garden in permaculture, associative events, forestry and maintenance and upkeep of the local flora and fauna.

Bienvenue au Vernou.
Je m'appelle Julie, et il y a 7 ans, j'ai été désignée comme héritière dune propriété de chasse en Sologne.
Mes convictions et mes expériences passées m'ont poussé à transformer le lieu en sanctuaire antispéciste dans une région plus qu'hostile à la cause animale.
Nous accueillons aujourd'hui plusieurs dizaine d'animaux : chèvres, moutons, vaches, chevaux, ânes, cochons et sangliers, ainsi que des chats, et les deux chiens de la famille.
Nous essayons de recréer un espace de semi liberté, sans exploitation animale, sur les 70 hectares de la propriété.
L'entretien des animaux occupe une majeure partie de nos journées, cependant nous avons des projets de potager en permaculture, d'événements associatifs, de foresterie et de maintien et d'entretien de la faune et la flore locale.

We are of a fairly young average age, but we study all profiles. We are quite politically engaged. We love music, evenings by the fireside (large library), walks, animals of course, and our little weekly outings at Emmaus. Small bonus, we have a pole dance bar.

Nous sommes assez engagés politiquement.
Nous aimons la musique, les soirées au coin du feu ( grande bibliothèque) , les promenades, les animaux évidemment, et nos petites sorties hebdomadaires chez Emmaus.

We ask the volunteers for 4 hours of daily help Feeding of the animals, maintenance of their place of life, various care, supervision and odd jobs
