    Hi we are Geoff & Lynne a husband and wife team that own and operate a mobile adventure business that delivers school education and community events throughout NZ. Building self esteem and confidence and teaching life skills and resilience in our youth.

    We're looking for enthusiastic, energetic people to join our team delivering exciting outdoor education and event programmes throughout the Auckland and North Island.

    This is a **paid seasonal position** based at our rural property in Hunua. Accommodation is available on-site, making it ideal for travellers looking for seasonal work while experiencing New Zealand.

    We are a mobile adventure business that delivers outdoor education programmes to schools, community events and festivals. Every day is different, with our team transporting, setting up and operating a wide variety of activities before packing everything away ready for the next event.

    Activities include:

    * Portable Rock Climbing Walls
    * Archery
    * Adventure Based Learning Activities
    * Giant Earth Balls
    * Team-building and Amazing Races
    * Inflatable obstacle courses
    * Bouncy castles
    * Mechanical Surfboard
    * Bungy Trampolines
    * Dunking Tank
    * Interactive games and event equipment

    Our programmes encourage participation, confidence, teamwork and fun while maintaining a strong focus on safety. Successful applicants become part of our operations team and receive full training.

    Typical duties include:

    * Loading equipment prior to events
    * Setting up at schools and community events throughout Auckland region and the North Island.
    * Risk Assessment and Safety checks
    * Facilitating activities/programs for children and or adults
    * Monitoring and enforcing safety procedures
    * Packing down equipment
    * Cleaning, maintaining and preparing equipment for future events

    No two days are the same, so flexibility and a positive attitude are essential.

    We're seeking people who are:

    * Fun, outgoing and enthusiastic
    * Excellent communicators who enjoy working with children and adults
    * Confident speaking to groups
    * Able to understand, communicate and enforce safety procedures
    * Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and lifting (Some heavy lifting required).
    * Reliable, punctual and well organised
    * Team players with a positive "can-do" attitude

    The following are advantageous but not essential:

    * Previous experience in outdoor education, coaching, event hire, lifeguarding, recreation, camps or customer service
    Full New Zealand or recognised overseas driver's licence
    * Experience driving on New Zealand roads
    * Trailer towing or reversing experience (training provided)
    * Mechanical aptitude (Work with generators and amusement devices which have mechanical components).

    Applicants **must have a high standard of spoken and written English** and be able to clearly understand and communicate safety instructions. As the role involves supervising children and operating amusement equipment, clear communication is essential for the safety of participants and fellow staff.

    All of our vehicles can be driven on a standard car licence.

    Previous experience operating our equipment is not expected.

    We provide comprehensive training for suitable applicants, including equipment operation, programme delivery and safety procedures. All new team members complete an initial paid training and assessment period to ensure they are confident delivering programmes to our standards before working independently.

    We generally recruit for two seasonal intakes each year and also if we have any larger events requiring multiple instructors.

    A typical event day may include:

    * Loading equipment
    * Travelling to venue
    * Set-up & safety checks
    * Supervision & facilitation of programs
    * Pack-down

    Transport to jobs: Most of our staff for jobs in Auckland meet onsite. Workawayers can catch a ride with us to jobs from base. If staff are driving a vehicle from base we also pay them for driving hours.

    Accommodation is available in our cabin-style guest accommodation.

    You will have your own private bedroom (single or double bed depending on availability) with shared bathroom facilities.

    Accommodation is located on our rural property in the beautiful Hunua Ranges.

    Team members are responsible for providing their own food and meals.

    After larger event days we often celebrate with a team BBQ or shared dinner together. These are simply part of our team culture and are not included as part of the employment package.

    Living in Hunua Ranges on our 185-acre which property backs directly onto the stunning Hunua Ranges Regional Park, giving you easy access to some of Auckland's best native bush walks, waterfalls and swimming holes.

    During your free time you're welcome to explore the farm, take our two friendly dogs for a walk or swim, or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful rural surroundings.

    We also have a couple of campsites on the farm that we have tourist vans park overnight so you will also have fellow travellers in your midst.

    Hunua is a fantastic base for exploring the wider Auckland region and nearby attractions including:

    * Hunua Falls
    * Hunua Ranges Regional Park
    * Clevedon Village
    * Clevedon Farmers Market
    * Maraetai Beach
    * Duder Regional Park
    * John Hill Estate Winery, one of the area's popular boutique wineries and restaurants

    We're located just:

    * 1 km from the local garage, superette and Hunua Falls Café
    * Approximately 15 minutes from Clevedon
    * Around 45 minutes from Auckland Airport
    * Around 45 minutes from Auckland CBD

    Public transport is limited (Trains run into the city from Papakura which is 15km away) so having your own vehicle is definitely an advantage. However, we're happy to offer lifts into town when we're travelling that way and space is available.

    We usually host two team members during our busy summer season, making this an ideal opportunity for friends or couples travelling together.

    This opportunity is ideal for energetic travellers who enjoy working outdoors, being active, meeting new people and making a positive impact with children and communities.

    If you're looking for a unique seasonal role where every day is different, enjoy working as part of a fun team, and are willing to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

    By staying with us, you'll have the opportunity to experience genuine Kiwi rural life and learn what it is like to live and work on in New Zealand. You'll gain an insight into NZ Communities and our rural lifestyle.

    We have 2 large dogs Mo Mo & Arthur (aka Dufas) who love going for walks and swimming in the river. 2 Cats (Princess Leya and Yoda), cows & sheep and chickens.

    We enjoy sharing our knowledge and teaching new skills and many of our previous Workawayers have become lifelong friends, and we love hearing about their lives long after they leave.

    We also enjoy introducing people to the Kiwi way of life—our relaxed approach, our love of the outdoors, our connection with nature and our strong sense of community.

    We often travel away which workawayers enjoy often taking time to show Workawayers the local area and some of the places that make New Zealand special.

    Because we also host school and corporate team building groups on our property in the Hunua Ranges there are also opportunities to learn about New Zealand hospitality, event management, outdoor education and sharing experiences with people from different backgrounds.

    In return, we love learning from our Workawayers too—their language, traditions, food, stories and perspectives from around the world. We encourage everyone staying with us to share something from their own culture, whether that's cooking a favourite meal or sharing stories from home.

    Our goal is that when you leave, you don't just remember the work you helped with—you remember the people you met, the experiences you shared and the feeling of having been part of a Kiwi family.

    ## Transport & Exploring New Zealand on Your Days Off

    One of the great things about our location is that you get to experience the best of both worlds—a peaceful rural farm lifestyle surrounded by native bush, rivers and wildlife, while still having easy access to Auckland and many of New Zealand's favourite attractions.

    Our farm is located just 45 minutes south of Auckland City and around 45 minutes from Auckland Airport. The nearest transport hub is Papakura, which is approximately 15 minutes away by car. We are happy to help with transport where we can and can often drop Workawayers at Papakura Train Station so they can easily explore Auckland and beyond.

    The train takes you directly into Auckland City, where you can explore:

    * Auckland Museum.
    * Auckland Zoo.
    * The Auckland Waterfront and Viaduct.
    * Restaurants, markets and shopping.
    * Ferries to some of Auckland's most beautiful islands.

    Some favourite day trips include:

    **Rangitoto Island** – A fantastic day trip where you can walk to the summit of this iconic volcanic island and enjoy amazing views over Auckland.

    **Waiheke Island** – Famous for its beautiful beaches, walks, relaxed lifestyle, vineyards and wineries. We recommend an overnight trip so you have time to properly enjoy everything the island has to offer.

    **Maraetai Beach** – A beautiful coastal spot just 35 minutes away, perfect for swimming, relaxing and enjoying the seaside.

    **Clevedon** – Only 10 minutes away, with its famous Sunday Farmers Market, local cafés, country atmosphere and delicious Clevedon strawberries.

    **Miranda Hot Springs** – A relaxing place to unwind after exploring.

    Of course, there is also plenty to enjoy right here on our doorstep. The Hunua Ranges and Hunua Falls are literally at the back of our property, with beautiful walking and cycling tracks through native New Zealand bush. You can swim in the river, explore the waterfalls, enjoy the peaceful surroundings or simply relax and enjoy the views from the farm.

    We understand that people come to New Zealand to explore, so we are flexible wherever possible. When farm projects allow, we encourage Workawayers to take advantage of opportunities to travel and explore. If there are quieter periods or no urgent jobs happening, we are happy to work with you so you can plan longer adventures and use our farm as your home base while discovering New Zealand.

    Having your own vehicle would provide the greatest freedom, but many of our previous Workawayers have stayed without a car and managed perfectly well. We do our best to help with transport when we can, and our Workawayers often find that the combination of public transport, local trips and our help makes exploring very achievable.

    After a few days with us, you may feel like you've escaped into a hidden corner of clean, green New Zealand or as Geoff phrases it "Just another day in paradise", but you'll still be surprisingly close to the city, beaches, islands and everything Auckland has to offer!

    Arthur is a Golden Retriever x with lots of energy (he takes you for a walk lol!). Him and Mo love to chase rabbits and go exploring. Arthur likes lots of attention. He is a big, good looking dog with a lovely temperament, and we sometimes call him dufus :)
