The most wonderful 6 weeks ever in the most wonderful spot of County Clare. Waking up every morning with the view of The Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. Peter and his family are the kindest Irish people you could wish for.
!!! If you're looking forward to improve your English, learn about Irish history and ride every day, this is the right
… read more place for ya !!!
What to expect :
-Grooming, tackling and riding the horses, welcoming the tourists and go on rides with them for one, two or three hours.
-You'll live in a small house close to the yard with the other workawayers, you send a list of groceries and Mary will get everything for you to cook in your own place.
-A few buses not too far away but remember you're kinda of the middle of nowhere (Lisdoonvarna 40' of walk, Doolin around 1hour and...)
Peter is the best boss ever, easy going and very funny (kind of crazy ahah) and the horses are incredibly kind and beautiful.
Mountain View, 'till next time ;-)

I stayed 6 weeks in this beautiful place of Ireland in early spring 2022.
I experienced different jobs before and after 1st of April. Before 1st of April, the trekking center wasn’t open, so that we just had to get the horse ready for the beginning of the season, which didn’t represent a large amount of time. But after the opening of the trekking
… read more center, we had tourists almost everyday to ride on 1, 2, or 3 hours tracks. Since there were a lot of trails, we could ride a lot Peter’s 10 trail horses , because we had to lead some trails with tourists. Don’t imagine that you’ll deal with experienced riders all the time : sometimes, it can be boring to be with beginners and children and always taking the same paths. But we often had some advanced riders, which was amazing because it allows you to counter a lot and have fun in the beautiful wild Irish nature (one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland I think). Thus, if you’re here to spend time on a saddle, you won’t be disappointed!
Concerning the accommodation, you won’t live with the family, so don’t expect to share anything with them, except the work in the yard with Peter obviously. I shared an accommodation with two other girls. We had a single room and a double room, a bathroom, a living room and a kitchen. Mary did the shopping for us, (she brings everything you need !).
The center is located between Lisdoonvarna (45 minutes walk) and Doolin (a bit more than 1 hour walking), so it’s a bit far from little cities. We were so lucky that Peter’s mother gave us lifts to go to the pub, and we also had to take the taxi often because we had no bikes despite our regular requests.
If you want to imagine the work you’ll have to do, just know that your schedule won’t be always the same, because everything depends on the tourists (and also on the weather!), so that you’ll have some very quiet days (just a couple of hours of work) as well as very busy days (sometimes no time to have a real lunch, but a few hours riding horses !)
Finally, riding in this part of Ireland is amazing because the landscapes are breathtaking. But you need to know what experience you want to live because if you’re here to be in immersion with a family and to discover the Irish culture and to improve you English, Mountain View Horse Riding Center might not be the perfect place for you, even if there are plenty of fantastic things to do.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

If you are very experienced with horses, if you're not scared speaking english all day and if you wanna discover a wild nice part of ireland, here is a place for you!
You can ride all the day long guiding tourists (galloping on the beach, meeting nice people from US or all over europe etc), you will also have time to train young horses but you

There is so many horses to ride here, mainly Cobs, this was such a real good experience. i had the opportunity to rode this big Jack horse for example, alone in the sand area and so many others moments like that, that was so great!
You will work 6 day per weeks, feeding the horses, cleaning etc but it is not too intense. The most intense is when there is a lots of tourist coming to ride, but this give you the opportunity to ride in amazing landscapes.
During your day free you can take a bus to Galway, or go to the Aaran Islands or Cliff of moher wich are not far from the barn. You can go sometime for a beer with orther workawayers in Doolin, a very cute city. I think they are placed in one of the most beautiful part of Ireland.. :)
It was hard for me to fit first because of my english (people were speaking so so fast) but I get use to it and Peter helped me a lots with it, I worked so much in progress: I am a better speaker now ;) But at the end, I miss everything there: landscapes, peter crazyness, horses (omg, legoman and Jack i'm missing them so much), crazy weather and barn lifestyle.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

I had 3 great months working here. In the early spring, I was able to help a lot with training and riding young horses and I was taught so much about them. We (the workawayers) were the guides for the trail rides (1-6hours long, beach and mountain) and Peters trailhorses are grand – very well cared for and very well behaved. They make guiding so

In order to work there, you definitely need to be an experienced rider and be able to work on your own, it's a responsible job and it can get quite busy. It's all about riding and some general barn work and I spent more than 4 hours in the saddle every day.
Peter is the best boss you can work for, he always makes sure you’re happy with your work, he's always cheerful and he and Mary will take very good care of you. I've felt very welcomed and I've found some good friends. I’ve worked together with up to 4 other girls (workawayers and local) and we had many great evenings in the pub and on fun-rides with young horses. I can’t wait to be back (again ).Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

I honestly had one of the best summers of my life here! I was with Peter and Mary for 2 months, and it wasn’t nearly enough time! I’ve missed riding the last few years, and if that’s the case, this is the place for you. It’s all about the horses, and of course Charlie Bucket, the attention hogging collie you’ll want to take home by the end. I’ve
… read more worked for other trekking companies, but I haven’t ever had the privilege of working with such an incredible team of horses. Still saving for a plane ticket to bring Rusty back to New York with me haha. The scenery is breathtaking, and it never gets old. The beach rides are something special too, just so much fun. Especially with experienced riders you can take for some nice sandy gallops!
I can’t thank Peter and his wonderful family enough for making me feel right at home. You won’t meet more genuine and generous people anywhere else! And little JR is an absolute treasure! They were incredibly helpful with finding us things to do in our down time too. My parents came to visit and Peter even got my mom who hasn’t ridden in years riding down on the beach!! That was so special to the both of us! And I have to say that the late nights hanging out riding babies, helping the blacksmith, or down at McGann’s (best pub in Doolin) were some nights I’ll never forget!
If you’re passionate about horses and looking for well minded animals, beautiful scenery, and a fantastic boss, this is the place you want!
Counting down the days till I can go back!!!Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

I stayed with Peter and Mary for just over 3 weeks and can't speak highly enough of my experience - I definitely wasn't there for long enough and I will definitely be going back. If you are an experienced horseperson and very capable rider who wants to spend all day around horses and in particular wants to do A LOT of riding then this place will
… read more be perfect for you! During my stay I was responsible for leading trail rides from 1 to 4 hours in length for riders of all abilities, helping bring on multiple young horses and all aspects of horse care. The riding is wonderful and workaway volunteers even get the opportunity to join and guide the beach rides. I genuinely liked every single horse I rode and ypu will get the opportunity to ride lots of diferent ones. I probably averaged 4+ hours riding a day plus a few bonus rides taking the horses to the field bareback or whizzing one of the youngsters up a dirt track. It really is the perfect workaway for a horse lover! The hours could be long on some days (as one expects with a job involving animals) but Peter is a lot of fun to work with and really looks after his staff and horses. On hot days he would often appear with ice creams for us! It's the sort of place where you need to be able to use your initiative regarding what needs to be done, it gets busy during the summer months and it is appreciated if you can be left to get on with tasks without having to be supervised. Mary and Briget (Peter's mum) really made sure me and the other workaway girls had everything we needed. I lived in a small cottage behind the stable with 3 other volunteers. There are 2 bedrooms which both sleep 2 people, a shower room, kitchen and sitting room/diner. Mary bought all of our groceries for us and we did out own cooking - we sent a shopping list roughly every 5 days. Some evenings we went to one of the local pubs for dinner or got takeaway pizzas. On my days off I visited Galway, the Cliffs of Moher and one of the Aran Islands. I recommend that anyone going takes cash with them as there aren't many cash points locally. For those considering a workaway in Ireland I cannot recommend this place enough!Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

I stayed for 3 weeks and I really enjoyed my time. During that time I shared with another girl a mobile home which was next to the stable. Each of us had his own room and we shared bathroom, kitchen and the living room. Mary, Peter's wife or Brigit, his mum bought the groceries for us and we cooked our own meals. We helped Peter with mucking out
