Staying at Idas place was fabulous! I really felt at home during my three weeks stay. She and her daughter are really nice! I spent 2 weeks with Ida and her daughter in December - and I had such a great time with them!
Ida is a great and caring host, and her daughter is a little energy bomb, who radiates happiness and makes you happy as well just by being next to her.
I helped them with everyday tasks around the house - making dinner, cleaning up, walking their lovely
… read more dog Nemi, bringing in wood from the outdoor storage, taking care of her daughter or playing with her (which never felt like working:)), etc.
They live in a beautiful and spaceous house in the countryside near Lillehammer with beautiful surroundings! It’s extremely beautiful there in December there with all the snow and there are great smaller hikes that you can do from the house (don’t miss the 2 amazing waterfalls nearby!).

I would highly recommend Chloe. She's a wonderful girl. She came to our home and adapted to our lives. She wanted to learn and was positive about everything. She did the job well and she took good time with my daughter, who also liked Chloe very much :-) She adapted to vpre routines and was easy and nice to have in the house. good luck dear! :-)

What a wonderful experience with Ida and her daughter ! It was my firts time as workawayer (and my firts time in Norway!) and I really enjoyed it ! During free time, I had the opportuny to discover the pretty landscapes arond the house and to enjoy the life style of the family. I learned a lot about Norway and Ida took the time to make me taste the traditional food (and she is a very good chef!). It was easy with the communication and I really appreciate our conversations.

Ida and her little girl is always fun to be around with, always joyful, they love singing and dancing, there was never a dull moment! Everything was great - the work was never too much, and it was always fun and interesting. I enjoyed every single bit of it, from cooking some meals and doing some gardening works, and also painting a log (I will never forget this fun memory !) Ida always made an effort to include me in the family, in trips and hiking, to the river and grills. Her lovely children are one of the most thoughtful and caring people I have come across, just like their mom:) Ida is also secretly an AMAZING chef and makes wholesome and filling meals. I had a nice stay with Ida! It was my first workaway experience so I was quite nervous but I immediately felt at home. I only stayed for 2 weeks because I wanted to see a lot of different places but I would gladly have stayed longer. The area is nice for walking and in the weekend we went canoeing on the beautiful lake near their house.

… read more have loved to see the northern lights but you can only see those in winter that far south and I can imagen winter is quite a nice time to be in Norway. But if I ever go back I would like to go on the 17th of may when everyone celebrates and wears their traditional clothing, that must be quite a sight! :)
Ida has two very nice children and she and the oldest speak fluent English so there was no problem communicating. the youngest was only 3 years old at the time (now 4) so she couldn’t speak English yet which was a shame because there was a lot she wanted to tell me! I stayed 6 good weeks at Idas host in Gausdal. She is a very lovely mother of two great and happy kids. I had a nice room on the second floor and enjoyed a lot of nice walks with the cute dog Nemi! I also took care of the youngest child some hours and cooked dinner, some days in the week. I was lucky to celebrate Christmas in this lovely family
… read more and was teached to stand on skis the first time in my life . I enjoyed nice evenings or time with other family members and had enough time to see the surroundings e.g. the ski - jumping hill in Lillehammer. :)

I had a great time time with Ida and her family. She is very kind and welcoming so i soon felt at home and my stay extended to some weeks.
