    A highly appealing living environment

Our home is located in a family hamlet in the commune of Goult, allowing for a multigenerational lifestyle on a daily basis.

More generally, we love the Luberon for its soothing atmosphere and magnificent landscapes—a blend of valley farmland, unspoiled natural areas, and beautiful hilltop villages like Gordes and Roussillon nestled in the hills. Its starry skies are another feature that captivated us. Having direct access to the cycle path connecting Cavaillon to the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence is a real asset for truly appreciating this lifestyle. We also love the Luberon Regional Park because there is something for everyone: hiking along numerous trails—including the "Colorado Provençal" in Rustrel—*via ferrata* in Cavaillon, canoeing on the Sorgue …

Looking at the bigger picture, we are delighted with our location in the PACA region (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur). We are just an hour and a half from the coast and Mont Ventoux, and an hour from the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Avignon—famous for its Palais des Papes and theater festival. What a wealth of possibilities for varied outings!

    A dynamic and warm family

Our immediate family consists of five members: a married couple with three children aged 6, 8, and 10. The mother is a primary school teacher currently on leave, and the father is a high school mathematics teacher. Our children are curious and enthusiastic about a variety of activities (board games, cycling, painting, physics and chemistry experiments etc.). They also enjoy their free time, when they can let their imaginations run wild and pore over countless books. The children's young age—combined with the lively temperaments of our two boys and strict limits on screen time—makes for an energetic and bustling daily life.

More broadly, travel and cultural immersion are part of our family's DNA. Pascale herself spent five months living with a host family in Moldova. Furthermore, our entire family has just spent a wonderful year in Ireland, from August 2025 to July 2026. We know exactly what it feels like to arrive in a foreign country. That is why we will do our utmost to welcome you in the best possible way, with kindness and an open mind.

Believing that learning a foreign language goes hand in hand with discovering another culture, we feel that hosting a Workwayer makes perfect sense. We are convinced that learning a language this way is far more effective and engaging than formal instruction. For our part, we hope to help the Workwayer improve their French, should they wish to do so. We believe that moving between two cultures is a deeply enriching experience, as it allows us to gain perspective on our own habits and become more open-minded. Hosting a Workwayer also presents a challenge, as it requires us to adjust our routine to ensure the volunteer feels comfortable; both we as parents and our children will continue to develop our adaptability in the process.
To ensure this experience is as beneficial as possible, we will do our utmost to integrate the volunteer into our family. We would also be delighted to go out together, should they wish to do so.

We are looking for an English-speaking (or perfectly bilingual) Workawayer to help us improve our English. This learning process is particularly important to us, as we would like to embark on another one-year stint living abroad in an English-speaking country.

For the most part, you will be spending time with our children. The idea is for them to improve their English through play and by listening to stories. We want them to learn the language through immersion rather than formal instruction. Last year, they became accustomed to various immersion activities in Ireland, and we estimate their current English level to be A1/A2. We, the parents, will also be at home during your stay. We would be happy to assist you if needed—whether by facilitating communication or by guiding you in selecting and using their various games. Your role will simply be to help them practice in a fun, playful way.
In the interest of transparency, we would like to let you know that one of our boys faces significant challenges with socializing and managing frustration, which can lead to temper tantrums. Please rest assured that we, his parents, will always be there to handle these difficult moments.

To a lesser extent, your role will also involve helping us improve our English. We’ll do this by cooking together; in fact, we plan to prepare at least one traditional dish to share our culture with you. If you’d like, we’d also love to discover a typical dish from your culture. However, if you don’t feel comfortable in the kitchen, there is absolutely no obligation—so no pressure at all. Finally, you’ll also help us wash the walls. You won’t be on your own for this task either, as we’ll use the time to converse in English. We currently estimate our English proficiency at level B2 for the mother and C1 for the father.
To foster a sense of sharing and conviviality, we would love to share all our meals with you! This applies especially to dinners, as well as lunches on days when we are working together in the afternoon. In any case, you are welcome at our table for every meal.

Your workload will be lighter (18 hours) during your first week (October 12–18) because the children will be at school on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Consequently, we would like you to choose just two of those four days to help us for an hour and a half at the end of the day (playing and reading stories in English with the children). This way, you will have two weekdays completely free to rest or go sightseeing. As for Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, you will spend the afternoon with us (5 hours per day). The schedule includes: 3 hours of playing with the children, 1 hour helping the parents in the kitchen, and 1 hour helping to wash the walls. We would also like you to help us improve our English. We will do this while cooking together; in fact, we plan to prepare at least one traditional dish to share our culture with you. If you wish, we would love to discover a typical dish from your culture. However, if you do not feel comfortable in the kitchen, there is no obligation—so there is no pressure at all. Finally, you will also help us clean the walls. You won't be alone for this task, as we will take the opportunity to converse in English. We currently estimate our English proficiency at level B2 for the mother and C1 for the father. Lastly, we would like to use mealtimes to continue practicing English by chatting in a relaxed atmosphere.
Your second week of work (October 19–25) will be busier (25 hours). From Monday to Friday, you will assist us every afternoon following the same schedule as the weekends during the first week (childcare, cooking, and washing down walls). However, you will have the entire weekend off to explore the region.

This schedule is a proposal on our part, but we remain completely open to discussion; ideally, we would like to find a compromise that meets both your expectations as a traveler and our family's needs. Furthermore, depending on how the first two weeks go and how well we get along, we would be quite open to discussing the possibility of extending your stay with us.

In return for your help with English, this stay offers a wonderful opportunity for you to improve your French. Outside of work hours, we would love to naturally alternate between English and French for a fun, mutual learning experience. As natives of Goult with a deep love for our region, we would also be delighted to share our personal recommendations for things to see and do.

Our country house is spacious and features a large garden with Provençal touches (lavender and stone walls). In addition, you have direct access to the Calavon cycle route.
For your comfort and privacy, you will have a bright room overlooking the garden, well-separated from the children's bedrooms, so you won't be disturbed by noise at night. Next to your room is a dressing area where we will clear a wardrobe for your personal belongings. There is a toilet close to your room; however, we only have one bathroom upstairs. We will do our best to ensure it is available whenever you wish to use it.
We will provide bed linen and towels, and you will of course have access to the washing machine.
Dining and cooking also play a central role in our lives. We place great importance on preparing good meals every day, prioritizing fresh ingredients. For our family, shared meals are essential, lively occasions for connection and conversation.
To avoid any unpleasant surprises, we would like to point out that we do not have a television. Regarding the Internet connection, the house's Wi-Fi is accessible only in our central living areas (kitchen and dining room).

As you will have seen from our profile, we have been open and honest about the pace of our household, our expectations, and our children's personalities. If our arrangement interests you, we would greatly appreciate it if you were equally honest about your own expectations and personality. This will help ensure that we are truly a good match and avoid any unpleasant surprises for either party. These initial conversations will also help build a relationship based on trust, which we consider essential for this type of arrangement.
