  Hello! Hallo! Salut!
  
  We are a family of six (four girls aged 18 - 25 and their parents), located in a village between Bonn and Cologne. My two older sisters are studying. My youngest sister is still going to school and lives at home. I (managing the account) will be home building a camper in our old horsetrailer. I'm studying in Bonn so I will be there as well.
  
  We live in an old farmhouse with our animals: dogs, cats, chicken, ponies, rabbits, bees and more (we are not a farm, it’s just a hobby lifestyle). There is always a lot going on, from small projects in the yard to gardening work and dealing with the normal chaos called life :) We love to cook and bake, going on rides/ carriage drives with the ponies, having friends over and would love to welcome people from all over the world. We try to be as ecofriendly as possible and eat mostly vegetarian.
  
  We speak german, english and french and would love some cultural exchange! You would help us about 4 to 5 hours a day.
  
  We would like to have workawayers for a shorter period (between one and three weeks). We do not host during Christmas Ewe and New Year. Our house and garden is a strictly non-smoking area.
  
  Note: We've been hosting Workawayers for over a year now, and we've found that we especially enjoy hosting couples or friends. Not only is it often easier for you to work together, but we also enjoy the lively atmosphere that comes with having more people around!
  What matters most to us is that Workawayers become part of our family during their stay, rather than simply using our home as a hotel. Opening our home to someone involves trust, time, and energy, so we're looking for volunteers who genuinely want to connect with us, take part in family life, and make an effort to integrate themselves into our daily routine.
  Of course, you'll always have your own free time, personal space, and the freedom to explore the area! We absolutely encourage that. However, we hope you'll also enjoy spending time with us—sharing meals, joining conversations, playing games, watching movies, or simply being present as part of the household.
  We really appreciate volunteers who show gratitude for the hospitality they receive and who contribute to creating a warm, friendly atmosphere in the home. For us, Workaway is about cultural exchange, shared experiences, and building genuine connections—not just accommodation in exchange for work.
  When you stay with us, you'll be welcomed and treated as a full member of our family—and as a family, we love doing things together!
  
  Note: When you're about to write us please introduce yourself a little bit. It is easier for us to know if you would fit in our family when we know something about you expect from the fact that you want to visit us. Especially because we have a lot of animals you shouldn't be afraid of them and have some experience with animals.
  Good communication is important to us, so we ask that you have a good level of English. We can also communicate in German, but in that case, you should feel comfortable speaking it very well. Being able to communicate easily helps us get to know each other and makes the experience more enjoyable for everyone.

  We would love to teach you some cooking, baking and animal work. You could also join us with a carriage ride in the forest. We would be happy to speak in German, english or French with you! You will be part of our family and we would be happy to learn from you while also sharing something about us.

  Arbeit

  There is always a lot to do in the garden, especially in summer and spring. We grow some fruits and veggies in a small vegetable garden and are trying to keep balance between a natural and beautiful cottage garden. There is always some weeding, planting or trimming going on in the garden.
  In autumn and winter we need help with feeding, harvesting, gather leaves, woodwork and preparing everything for the winter. If the ponies aren't on the pasture also mucking out the stables.
  Through the whole year we also need help with small outside craft tasks, Wood work and so on. We always like to have a Video call with our Workaway to say hi and also to explain with a bit more details which work we need at the moment.
  You could also help with the animals (feeding, brushing, mucking out stables).
  We would like you to have some experience with garden work and animals. Since the outside will be your main workingspace, you need to know some general stuff and be passionate about it. Mostly you should love to work outside while getting your hands dirty. Of course we make sure, you won't be overwhelmed with work :)
  
  Note: As you can read in our feedback I (Henriette/Heni) used to work with our Workawayers together. But since I am now studying you will might do tasks alone. So we will show and explain what tasks needs to be done and you can do it in your own speed. That might be a bit lonely sometimes cause the whole family will be at work, school or university during working hours. But if that’s the case we will 100% do some cool stuff together when we’re all back (playing cards, watching movies, cooking or help with the animals. Maybe we will also work together during the weekend and you will have your days of within the week.

  Unterkunft

  You could sleep in your own guest room, with a small double bed (1,40m) , your own bathroom and toilet. You will share the meals with us and have access to our kitchen.

  Was noch ...

  There is plenty to see and do in your free time. You could visit Bonn and Cologne (both can easily be reached by train, we could show you how) and the Eifel (a beautiful national Parc) is close by. We would be happy to show you the region and of course you could join us on trips and our daily life :) We would love to take you on a carriage drive with our pony’s or spending the evening together with a movie or card games.
