We are environment professionals with a 5 acre Land for Wildlife property overlooking Mt Elliot (Bowling Green Bay NP), 25 kms south of Townsville (near Magnetic Island). Our dry tropic forest offers great wildlife viewing & is the jumping off point for bushwalking, swimming & rock climbing in the NP. We favour self-motivated people with practical skills eg: gardening, building & maintenance. Work is 4.5 hours per day & may include weeding, mulching, & landscaping. Current projects are native bush regeneration, landscaping, construction, outdoor furniture & garden art. Illustrators and graphic designers most welcome as there may be the opportunity to have input to science communication projects.
Good meals, relaxed company & comfortable s/c guestroom (single or couple), or BYO. Min stay 3 nights then negotiable. Can P/U from Townsville. If you drink, BYO alcohol from town. NSI. No pets.

We are working towards restoring the natural vegetation on our Land for Wildlife property. This goal needs to balanced with various challenges such as fire risk, weed control and our desire to create a unique living space in our forest. Visitors will benefit from understanding the practical steps required to achieve long term environmental gains.
Arbeit
We need people to help us achieve our long term goals of restoring the natural vegetation on our property - it's a long term project and we are 50% of the way there so you can see how your efforts are helping restore habitat for wildlife - you'll see the critters all around you. We are also landscaping, building an outdoor fire pit for social gatherings and maintaining a fire break.
We also work on environmental projects that often have a science communication focus to which designers and illustrators might be able to contribute.
We are interested in you as well. Feel free to tell us about your interests and skills.

Large guest room connected to main house with a double bed. Includes wifi coverage. Toilet and showers in main house.
You will eat with us! Meals of tasty and dinner is relaxed, casual and conversational. In the winter months we have a weekly fire pit cookout.
