We spent a really good week at Lucas' place! The accommodation is nice and we did different work every day like painting, gardening and working with wood. He gave us some good tips regarding woodwork and we shared very tasty and healthy meals together. Chiclana is also an interesting town with beautiful beaches near.

Hemos tenido una experiencia muy linda en lo de Lucas.
Hemos ayudado con el jardin, y diversas tareas en la casa, realizando jornadas de trabajo de 4 horas. Siempre realizamos un break en la mitad (a las dos horas) para desayunar juntos, y cada dia uno de los tres terminaría una hora antes para preparar el almuerzo y luego almorzar juntos.

We've been to Lucas' on January, for three weeks. It has been a perfect experience, during which we learned a lot and lived a funny and friendly atmosphere with Lucas and the other workawayers.
Lucas was really well organized: we made a meeting at the beginning to determine tasks and timetable and he showed us the things to do and his project.
… read more So, during the next weeks, we could work consciously on the various parts of the design: a wooden cabin for the external bathroom, the mandala for the orchard and the preparation of the ground.
Day by day, we shared together a lot of moments, and we felt like a family.
He is very careful about good quality of food. Everyday one of us, including Lucas, cooked and it was interesting to try different dishes of the various countries we came from. And the spicy Lucas' rice is so tasty!!
It's a perfect experience for one who wants to learn about permaculture, work with wood (he is really skilled), do some building, or spend a pleasant time on the wonderful seaside near Cadiz, knowing new people and maybe friends.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

We have been with Lucas for slightly less than a month with three more volunteers, a total of 5. Lucas is a very nice guy, we enjoyed the working and free time together. We did gardening arranging a wonderful mandala garden and planting the first trees of his food forest. We builded up the compost toilet using pallets and on rotation we have been in charge of cooking and house-cleaning. We learned a lot of things about permaculture, both doing and comparing ideas. We slept in our caravan for our own choice, being more comfortable for us but there’s a chance to have a nice room and we appreciated the vegan cuisine done by everybody.
A special tag goes to Pirata and Rumbo (Lucas’s dogs), real house kings, specialist of cuddlings and for the nice time our dogs had with them.

Hello everyone! I am thrilled to say that this first Workaway experience surpassed all my ideas I had before reaching Luca's place. Allow me to explain:
I spent two weeks working with another volunteer from Poland. We worked together with Luca, sometimes with his dad and some days sole charge (4h/day, 5 days/week).
Here are a few of the tasks we
… read more had: collecting wood and chopping it ready for the fireplace, making compost for Luca's permaculture project, walking and playing with Rumbo and Pirata (who I dearly miss), making jam, cooking deliciously fresh veggie stews from Luca's dad garden, replacing connectors and taps of the irrigation system, planting flowers, picking olives. All these jobs were carried under kind sun and in good company.
At the end of the days, we would eat together (when Luca's schedule would allow it), play cards, listen to music, read and just enjoy this honest togetherness.
Luca is a straight-forward, honest and fair guy. Really appreciate his hospitality, treats and care. Thank you!
As for time to explore, there is a forest park just 3 minutes away, the beach and the bars/restaurants are a bit further, but with the bikes that Luca made available, it's all just like a summer camp. This is how it felt for me at least.
