  Beschreibung

  I am the founder of the sanctuary and am often present but am not running things day to day as I have a public relations company in London. The manager of the sanctuary is Elisabe Hurtado and she would be the host to any volunteers.
  
  The sanctuary gives home and care to elderly and abused animals, with the emphasis being giving them a good quality of life. We have twenty seven dogs, 60 cats, sheep, goats, pigs, a donkey and a horse.
  
  Mallorca is a beautiful island and we are located right in the centre of it. We are close to the historic towns of Llubi and Sineu and about 25 minutes away from beaches. We are about 40 minutes away from the charming capital city of Palma.

  To help us, a volunteer must have a natural connection and empathy with animals and for such people the work is very rewarding. This is also a great opportunity to practice Spanish, but English is also spoken. Mallorca is particularly popular with German, British and Danish tourists, but it is easy to meet young people from all over the world when you are here.
  
  Volunteers will receive a thorough briefing about the animals in our care and will be encouraged to get to know them and play with them. We have plenty of interesting routes for walks, hikes, bike rides and runs and we will arrange rides to Sineu or Inca 2 or 3 times a week.
  
  We have a manager and a worker that will instruct and inform Workawayers on how to perform tasks around the sanctuary, and we will also help them with transportation so they can explore the island and get to know the surrounding area.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for animal lovers (preferably vegan) to help out with looking after the animals - cleaning, walking and playing. The animals love it when people spend time with them. We are looking for ‘animal people’ with a strong work ethic and a compassionate nature.
