Beschreibung
I am lover of nature, healthy, varied food,smoothies, ecological style of life. I am worry of loosing biodiversity so its very important to create habitats. Beside Polish, English I speak Spanish (better than English even I teach this language) and Italian.
My article regarding the biodiverse garden but in Spanish:

I did some volunteer jobs during my travels, mostly Latin America.
I have family organic garden with vegetables, fruits and herbs near Warsaw. For a help I can provide accommodation and some food, also I can show around, I am salsa lover, so if you would like we can go out together.

Arbeit
A volunteer can help in the garden sowing, planting, weeding, watering ect. Also can be cleaning or cooking. I am open for some new design ideas. We are looking physical strength person, able to work with the soil, plants, better with some experiences of work in the garden, agriculture.

15 minutes walking there are bus going to Warsaw, to the center of the city it takes more or less 1 hour. There are nice landscapes near: forests , meadows, lake, bike paths. I go to work to Warsaw but if I have free day I would like to accompany you even visiting other places in Poland, I like show around.

Really amazing experience. Ania has two farms and it's so interesting! 🌺🌿💐getting covered in mud was wonderful, the smells, textures of the soil and plants and flowers was just glorious. 🥰🦊🌿They are very knowledgeable, passionate and doing great work in the community. Ah... Thanks to Ania and her parents I had a chance to be a Workawayer once again and… it. was. a. bliss. Thank you once again for the time and exchanges we could have! I got to work, rest, and refuel myself real good there.

As for work - I visited in the first week of September when it was still warm, pretty warm for a typical September, to be… read more honest… - so I skipped most of the weeding and soil prep and focused mainly on picking the fruits and veggies and tending to beautiful, lush plants to make sure they may grow to the best of their potential by removing infected or sick leaves or spraying the plants with a natural formula. I got to work both in the greenhouse - surprisingly a nice part of work (Ania and her Mom ensured I wasn’t working there after 9 a.m. when the sun was setting in the sky for a day) - and outside, in the open air. Since I had some experience in garden work and aligned with Ania’s and her Mom’s values on ecology topics and health, I felt their work and business purpose (yes, they deliver food to customers around the area!) were very relatable for me, it was a pleasure to care for their garden and help them run it as smooth as possible. I didn’t work too much and since the organisation isn’t the forte of the place, I pretty much came up with my schedule and managed my time, leaving me with 5 hours of work per day and changing the hours when I would start and finish my work for the day.

As for the people and animals - the hosts are pretty straightforward and quite respectful so I got to quickly and easily find a way to enter into contact with them; it sure helped that we all spoke Polish, but I can imagine it being nice and fun for non-Polish speakers all the same. The hosts all like being in the kitchen, mainly to cook and experiment there, but also to eat - duh, and they may sometimes fight for a space there ;P, it’s just their ways, nothing to be worried about, they’re going to keep it between themselves and leave you out of it, unless of course, you don’t know how to behave and live with others. The place is friendly to all: meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans and I imagine all other diet choosers. Everyone is generous there, and to me, it was the first Workaway experience where it felt like I was visiting my grandparents who would make sure I ate often enough, well enough, and just, well - enough. I was being offered one healthy drink and snack after another and also got to prepare my own meals with whatever was at hand. It was a pity we couldn’t sit more often together at the table, but the place is full of work and every day is different from another so I get also that for that to happen isn’t always convenient to all the homemakers. There is also a dog there, as emotional as the hosts can be but it is a friendly dog all in all and I appreciated it joining me for fruit picking and yoga sessions on the mat!

As for the place itself - I got to stay in a spacious room the size of my Warsaw apartment and loved the firm bed. I slept like a baby there, really. The garden was surprisingly massive and the terrain quiet despite a near road proximity. I haven’t gone to the lake nearby, which I didn't even know about, but I got to find my own treasure and cherry on top: leave through the garden’s back gate, walk through a forest for 2-3 minutes to get down to the canal by which you can stay every day after work (or before) for hours on end. The general vibe is very chill and quiet despite the area being filled with locals and Warsaw inhabitants who go out on a bike ride or whatnot.

I got to feel really good there, quite independent, just as I like it. Got to try new meals, learn new recipes, and gain new knowledge about gardening, plants, ecology, etc. It was also great that despite some differences in political or religious matters, we got to get along well together, thank you for that. The initial communication wasn’t the easiest with Ania as she’s busy busy, but we managed to find our ways and got to phone call each other shortly twice before my visit. I left the place full of vitamin C and who knows what other goods in me and since I live in Warsaw I am planning on revisiting the place even for some grocery shopping. Thanks again! Dziękuję.

Alexander spent a week in my garden. He was communicative, polite, obliging, willing to help and work, he reliably performed the recommended tasks, he weeded quite thoroughly. He adapted to the conditions, had cognitive openness and flexibility. Because he spoke some Polish, he was able to communicate with my parents as well.

Żyło mi się dobrze z Anną przez cały tydzień - była to głównie pomoc w ogrodzie i bardzo mi się podobało. Ogólnie rzecz biorąc, Anna jest bardzo interesującą osobą i kobietą - z wykształcenia jest ekologiem i wie dużo o otaczającej przyrodzie. Dobrze zna się na permakulturze; o tym, jak uprawiać warzywa ze słomą.
Wie również dużo o ziołach… read more leczniczych. W tym czasie w ogóle nie piłem herbaty i kawy, tylko dlatego, że nie chciałem. Piłam cudowną miętę, melisę, czeremchę,bez czarny,pędy sosny i inne zioła. W tym Anna i jej mama robią wspaniałe dżemy - jadłem dżem z pigwy, aronii i pędów świerka.
Jadłem prawie wszystko bezpośrednio z ogrodu - pomidory, ogórki, cebulę, dynie, cukinię i tak dalej.
Anna i jej mama są dobrymi kucharkami. Zdarzały się też incydenty - kiedy Ania prosi o jedno, matka o drugie, a ojciec (bardzo rzadko) nawet o trzecie. Dlatego od samego początku trzeba jasno uzgodnić, jak i kogo słuchać w pracy/pomocy. Ponieważ jest to ogród rodzinny i ogród warzywny. Ta rodzina i sama Anna są bardzo religijnymi ludźmi - katolikami.
Anna ogólnie jest bardzo sympatyczną osobą - zawsze gotową do pomocy.

I lived well with Anna for a whole week - it was mainly help in the garden and I liked it very much. In general, Anna is a very interesting person and woman - she is an ecologist by education and knows a lot about the surrounding nature. He knows well about permaculture;
About how to grow vegetables with hay. She also knows a lot about medicinal and conventional herbs. During this time, I did not drink tea and coffee at all, just because I didn't want to. I drank wonderful mint, lemon balm, bird cherry,elderberry, brewed pine cones and some other herbs. Including Anna and her mother make wonderful jams - I ate jam from quince, chokeberry and pine needles. I ate almost everything directly from the garden - tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, pumpkins, zucchini and so on.
Anna and her mother are good cookers. There were also some incidents - when Anya asks to do one thing, her mother another, and her father (very rarely) even the third. Therefore, you need to clearly agree from the very beginning how and whom to listen to - about work / help. Since this is a family garden and vegetable garden. This family and Anna herself are very religious people - Catholics.
Anna in general is a very sympathetic person - always ready to help.

Anna’s farm was a beautiful and peaceful escape from the city. Her family was welcoming despite the language barrier and cooked excellent and healthy food. Her house is cozy and quiet with rivers, lakes and trails nearby and easy to access warsaw by public bus.
