We stayed 3 months during winter time (January to April) and we had one of our most memorable experience out there ❤️
Taking care of ~40 dogs was our daily routine : giving them the soupe in the morning, cleaning the cages when needed (snow, poop, and changing the hay from time to time), taking them out, the afternoon food and last but not least
… read more the traning ! It can sound like a chore, but we were surrounded by the love of every dogs ! 🐶 All of them are sled dogs, very energetic and so adorable with all a different behaviour and way to express their love ...
Our accomodation was really good : a lot of place just for ourself and really cosy with all the needed accomodations (TV, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, sofa etc.) ! On top of that we had the chance to share our cabin some wonderful dogs : Lotta, Pippi, Maja and Sheitan ❤️ They were so lovely and shared our daily life in the house, resting on the couch with us and playing outside ! It's hard to summarize our feelings, but they were a part of our family during these 3 months !
Of course, our stay wouldn't have been the same without Jo and Kenneth, two wonderful people that we had the chance to eat everyday with and help with the training. They were really welcoming with us, friendly and willing to share and teach us the way to handle the dogs (we had no real experience before !). This had teached us so much about ourself, on the dogs and the beautiful norwegian culture and landscape ! 🇳🇴
Thank you Jo and Kenneth for this amazing experience, and let us know how the dogs are doing !Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

I stayed with Jo and Kenneth for a little over a month, and I believe I found two of life's truly good people there. Working with the dogs was great, all of them beautiful animals (even the piranhas)......(especially Mix, I might be back to steal her).
Work with the dogs starts in the morning, but there is some variety with your days, which I
… read more found to be refreshing, getting out training with the dogs is so fun too, be it on the back of the quad-bike (like I got to) or on a sled (which I unfortunately missed).
Your hours revolve around the dogs, as you would expect in such a position, there is so much time to spend with them freely too. Just pay homage to their queen, Lotta, and you'll be fine (you'll see what I mean 😁)
The cabin is fantastic accomodation that I believe many would pay good money to stay in on a holiday, always stocked with good cheese, better bread, and the best conversation.
The rugged wilderness surrounding you must be explored at all costs. There is beauty there unlike what I've seen before. Trysil is a pretty little place, much like you'd expect from a skiing town, and definitely worth nosing around.
Kenneth is a very introspective soul that I could (and did) happily stay sat at the dinner table with for hours in conversation, over a plethora of topics. You will be able to widen your scope of knowledge talking with him to no end, and smile whilst doing so.
Jo is a very funny man, accomplished in training animals, and willing to part with so much information in that field. The passion with which he talks about the dogs with whom you will work with still brings a grin to my face to think about now.
Both of these men are able to gift you with a lot of knowledge about the majestic animals they love, and will be terrific hosts in the meantime.
If you are lucky enough to stay at Jota, you will leave a far richer person in spirit than when you arrived.
Here's to the races boys ❤️.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Kenneth and Jo are wonderful, amazing, fabulous people with both strong and caring natures both for people and for their dogs. These are championship sledding breeders so there are rules that need to be followed closely for the dogs and the dogs are also very excitable so be prepared to be pounced on a lot! The work is outdoors in the kennels be
… read more the hosts keep everything very organized and clean. Their work schedules change and this may affect training but a typical day starts 8 or 9 as the dogs need water or soup in the morning and mucking out the kennels. The hosts are very gracious and we always had great coffee/tea morning chats when their schedule allowed. Feeding is done again in the evening and when walking the dogs come back when called so you must know all their names! This is not just a stay for cuddling puppies, this is a stay to truly see the wild nature of dogs, how they lead and how they run as a pack. If you truly enjoy dogs there can never be too many and if you are looking for an original Norwegian experience, this is the place!Feedback
