Hiro and his 3 roommates live in a very old house in Toshima Ward, Tokyo.
I (Hiro) am an IT engineer and have been renting the house for over 10 years.
Other people are Chinese, Japanese, and Nepali, including a queer woman.
【Art project】
My friend drew a mural, but there was still free space on the wall.
So I started to find artists to add their paintings to the wall on this site.
At least 20 people from all over the world have joined this art project so far.
We don't have any art skills. Offer the chance but not join the project.
【The neighborhood】
Two stations from Ikebukuro, thirty minutes from Shinjuku and Shibuya.
Very quiet residential area, but there are some restaurants and shops.

I'm a foodie. I love to eat tasty or unique food and also cook for someone.
I can help you to eat foods that are difficult to find in other countries.
We can make sake or cook something for my roommates together.
My roommates are busy. Most of them have night shifts and don't speak English.
I don't want my roommates to feel that my guests are strangers.
I'd like to do the party with my roommates and you when they have time.
You can tell us about drinking games, alcohols, or foods from your country.
Other people can share their knowledge of anime, manga, and other otaku cultures.
One of them knows how to play guitar and other instruments, as well as skateboard.
My roommate used to go to women's bars in Shinjuku Ni-chome, the gay district.
Now she doesn't have time to go there, but she can tell her recommendation bars.

Help Title: Artist
We're looking for people who can draw a mural and help with cleaning.
I accept one person per month. But mostly I reject a request.
I much need cleaning help, but artists spend more time on the mural.
If you're interested in us but can't help with the mural, only cleaning help.
Feel free to contact us. Please don't forget to answer the questions.
(Long term is better and prefer people who pass "desirable criteria.")
Duties & Responsibilities
Paint the mural in any common space, mostly the living room.
No theme for painting, but original or copyright-free characters only.
Clean the inside and outside of the house before starting painting.
Selection criteria
Send me your artwork. Analog art and digital art are both ok.
It can be your website, Instagram, or a PDF of your portfolio.
It's fine to upload a photo of your artwork as your profile photo.

Select 'my profile photos' found in your 'My account' dropdown and follow the online
instructions. This is accessed by clicking your round profile photo in the top right of the screen or the three lines on mobile when logged in.
Essential criteria
･Drawing talents, whether professional or hobbyist, self-study is ok.
Not a request to have experience painting a mural or education in art.
･The request must be from one person, without any partner.
We have enough space for multiple people but need only a little help.
･The request must be for only the current or next month.
Because I have a chance to change the schedule of the future.
Desirable criteria (this is for getting along with my roommates)
･Japanese skill at least at the N3 level or using Google Translate.
･ Any knowledge of anime, manga, music, and skateboarding.
Benefits and Conditions
You can do it whenever you want. We don't manage your schedule.
We have paint markers, acrylic paint, and paintbrushes.
If you need painting tools, I can buy them at the 100 yen shop.
We much prefer you stay at least more than one week, up to a few weeks.
You're welcome to visit us to add your painting or just watch the mural.
If you just want to visit, please mention that you won't stay overnight.

No stoic rule, no curfew. There are two accommodations.
No meals are included because we don't ask you to work a lot.

There are some storage spaces and a balcony.
An electric fan for cooling and an oil heater for heating.

A private room with an air conditioner and furniture.
Basically for temporary use (e.g. jet lag, sickness, etc.)
