Hi, we are a young couple from Italy. It is our first time on workaway and we are very excited to start travelling and making unforgettable and true experiences.

Some words about Carlo:
I am an Energy Engineer, passionate about nature, outdoor activities, cooking and travelling. I have recently took a gap year to travel and make meaningful human relationships and experience, to enrich myself as a human being. I truly believe in cooperation and shared knowledge.

In this coming year I have chosen South East Asia as main destination to explore and learn from people that have different backgrounds and that for sure can teach me new and important things about life. At the same time I hope I can also contribute to leave some good knowledge and experience to the people I will meet.

In my free time at home I use to take care of my garden, my flowers and vegetables. I like to take care of my house, doing little maintenance electric/civil works. More in general, I love to be useful to other people in any way I can, from solidarity initiatives to volunteering activities. I speak Italian (mothertongue), english and french. I also love to play sports, such as swimming, freediving (Apnea Academy freediving certification), volleyball, basketball.

Some words about Camilla:
I’m a biomedical engineer with a technical and scientific background, but I’ve also always had a strong interest in culture, art, and anything that sparks creativity.
I recently decided to take a gap year to travel mindfully and immerse myself in the most authentic parts of Southeast Asia. I’m looking for experiences that allow me to truly connect with people and places, and to contribute positively wherever I can.

I have a natural inclination for empathy, active listening, and attention to detail. I love working with people, especially children: I have several years of experience as a babysitter, summer camp educator, and kids’ entertainer in holiday resorts for age groups from 0 to 14.
Things I enjoy:
Drawing, painting, and creating objects using recycled materials.
Cooking and experimenting with spices and high-quality, often home-grown ingredients from our vegetable garden
Practising outdoor sports
All activities related to the sea: I hold a PADI scuba diving Advanced license and an Apnea Academy freediving certification
Spending time in nature and living in close contact with it
Learning more about sustainable living

Languages: Italian (native), English and French (advanced), Spanish (basic).

My main strengths are adaptability and empathy, which fuel my curiosity for anything new and meaningful, whether it’s the people I meet or the places I explore.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We have a mix of different skill sets, due to our technical background and social activities track record.

Concerning the hard skill, we are a couple of engineers that are used to think fast and solve problems. We can help in making some calculations and simple designs for rural electrification, little construction works etc.

For what concerns softskills, we always have spent time in volunteering activities such as: welcoming and supporting international students arriving in our university; sports events with people with disabilities; community gatherings, cooking classes.

Especially Camilla has deep knowledge in education of little children and recreation activities in summer resorts.

More in general, we are responsible, reliable and altruistic people.

We both have an Apnea Academy certification for freediving and Camilla has a Open PADI certification and NADD Advanced certification for scubadiving.

In conclusion, we love adventures and to live fully, facing new challenges and discover more. It is important to us to have fun, meeting new people and learning new things.

Was noch ...

We love to play logic and general knowledge games, board games. We also like to do outdoor activities, such as hiking, taking care of the garden or farming. Last but not least, we love to have conversations with other people, cook and have meals all together. We feel we give our best when feeling we are contributing to something valuable and that makes a positive impact on environment and society.
