Beschreibung
Hello, we are Sara and Dmytro, after living in the city we decided to move in the countryside. We live in a tiny wooden house in a land of two hectare full of olive trees, with two dogs and three cats.
Our project was born from the idea of living in full respect of nature and the history of the place, promoting an alternative lifestyle.
Our land/ house is located in the territory of Ferla, next to the necropolis of Pantalica an area of great historical interest, natural and beautiful landscape, which presents one of the richest biodiversity of the Mediterranean.
We would like to create a place of rest and above all exchange of ideas and experiences.
We are located near various places of natural interest, 10 min from the rivers Anapo and Calcinara, about 40min from Siracusa and an hour from the seaside. In the surroundings it is possible to visit small and characteristic villages such as Palazzolo acreide,Buccheri, Cassaro. It is also possible to reach more touristic cities such as Noto, Modica, Ragusa.
IMPORTANT
Living in the countryside we are in close contact with insects especially in the hot period, we learn to live with them and respect them.
We try to be a zero waste project as possible, we can provide almost everything at km 0, it is important for us to avoid supermarket products full of packaging, we ask you to do the same.

First of all we would like to learn from you, from your past experiences, compare ourselves and share our ideas together, also we will introduce you to the beauty of the place, the lifestyle and various typical foods (: we will spend time conversing, having fun, eating and drinking well!
Arbeit
We are not looking for someone with particular skills or experiences because the path we have chosen is to learn together even through mistakes!
We mainly take care of the typical work of the countryside as olive harvest in October. We produce oil for our own and we can share it with you if you help us with harvesting. Other help would be pruning of the trees, gardening and the necessary works for the construction of a common area that in the future will be used to accommodate more people.
JUNE- JULY- AUGUST
Work in this period is a bit heavy as building compost toilets, common kitchen. They include moving stones, carrying wheelbarrows of sand. For the strong heat the work will be done in the early morning and afternoon
SEPTEMBER/ OCTOBER
The autumn works include the collection of carrubbe and olives, transport of the olives to the pediment, arrangement of olive oil barrels. Work in the garden and landscaping.
In this moment we are looking for someone we would like to help us for the olives harvest period (September 25th till 20th October)

Unterkunft
We offer a tent where you can stay in couple, also you can bring your tent. There are outdoor shower, compost toilet and outdoor kitchen (shared with the guest). We will provide food for the workawayers, mostly vegetables and local products and everything that will be requested!
We try to be a zero waste project, we respect the nature where we live. Please bring biodegradable and natural soap and shampoo and toothpaste as the shower water ends up in the soil and garden. If you don’t have them let us know before and we will get them to you (:

The nearest airport is Catania fontanarossa, there is only one bus per day to Ferla at 2:30 pm and every hour there are buses to
Siracusa where we can take you by car
In the free time feel free to do what you prefer like discover the cities or villages near us, take your time to go to the see in the weekend. We can go together to the river, go for a walk and discover some nice place around (:
