Help needed in Wexford, sunny south-east of Ireland in exchange for your own room a shared bathroom, food is provided.

Hi my name is Justine and I live in a typical house in Wexford with my husband (Jeff) our son (Luke age 25) and two small dogs. We are very easy going and friendly we have travelled and lived the work exchange lifestyle so understand your requirements. We have been fixing up and modernising our home but Jeff had a motorbike accident in January so all his to do list was put on hold. We have realised that without help we cannot get these tasks completed. Jobs need to be completed like guttering, painting, gardening and various home improvements depending on your skill set. Jeff will be available to offer support and advice to you as required but cannot do anything manual as his back and neck are damaged from the accident. So a mature person who is confident to carry on with tasks would be ideal.

    Help arrangement

We can plan out some tasks on a week-by-week basis but approximately 20 hours per week is all we expect so you can make plans to get out and explore which we will of course help you with as Ireland is so full of things to do.

    LIVING ARRANGEMENT

Living in a family home with your own room, it is a small double room but has everything you need to be comfortable and a shared bathroom we will make space in the kitchen also in case you wish to store some groceries of your own for lunch, snacks etc. Lidl and Aldi are a 5-minute walk from the house. Broadband is in the house if you wish to work from home also. We will give you a key so you can spend as much time with us as you like but be free to come and go as you wish, we are all adults living independently. We will have breakfast foods available to you for the morning and diner will be provided on the days you work most people like Monday to Friday and the weekends completely free. Non-smokers please as I have asthma.

    What else

We are on the edge of a town with all its amenities everything is walkable you can walk one way from our house into town or the other and be in the countryside for exploring. There are bus and rail services from the town to go exploring elsewhere. Dublin is an hour and a half away depending on which way you travel or Waterford is about the same in the other direction. This is the sunny southeast so you can't beat the location. Escape the extreme heat of Europe and come to a milder climate to experience Irish culture.

    Trails

    Beaches
There are an incredible amount of beaches in Co. Wexford so we have compiled a short list for you to choose from.
Curracloe - Possibly one of the best-known beaches in Ireland, no visit to Wexford is complete without a visit to the award winning Curracloe Beach. This incredible blue flag beach has three entrances, known locally as Ballinsker, White Gap and Culletons Cap which is bordered by the beautiful Raven Forest and reserve.
Rosslare beach alongside the gorgeous village of Rosslare is at the Southern end of Wexford Harbour.
Cahore Beach - The South Beach at Cahore is one of the longest beaches in the country and has the green coast award due to the quality of its waters. This fabulous beach stretches for miles of golden sand and is very popular with swimmers during the summer.
Ballyteige Burrow Bay Beach - is one of the finest sand dune systems in the Sunny South East, stretching out for about 10 kilometres. There are 3 main walking routes for you to choose from: along the beach where you can watch passing seabirds, through the dunes where you can see meadow pipits, wrens, stonechats and linnets (depending on the season) or on the path by the fence that separates the dunes from the adjoining farmland. The Burrow, as it is locally known, is a great place to wander and explore.
Morris Castle Beach - The blue flag awarded beach at Morriscastle is known locally as the golden mile and is bordered by a sheltered dune system. It’s also a favourite spot among the seal population, you are almost guaranteed to spot one.
Oldbawn- is a Green Coast awarded beach which has a wide range of native wildlife in the shelter of the sand dunes. Visitors can walk along the stretch of beach which eventually merges with Morriscastle beach.
Duncannon - is a seaside village with a mile long beach that can be driven on to, making it very accessible if you don’t want a long walk! This idyllic fishing village is sheltered by Duncannon fort, a historic attraction that’s well worth a visit. (You can explore the Hook peninsula while you are down that way too!)
Dollar Bay - If you are on the way to the Hook lighthouse then stopping off at Dollar bay beach is an absolute must. Venture down the long lane until you come to the golden sand and the bright blue sea, this bay is enclosed giving the impression that you are miles away from everyone else. Perfect for a picnic and lying in the sun. Just next door is the larger and just as impressive Booley bay.
St Helen’s Bay - If you are looking for a beach that’s a little less crowded, then the green coast accredited St Helen’s Bay is the ideal destination. There’s a fantastic walk from Rosslare harbour to St Helen’s Bay, and this beach is great for swimming, leisurely walks, fishing and exploring rock pools when the tide is right.
Carne Beach - is a beautiful golden sandy Blue Flag beach on the south east corner of County Wexford, not far from Rosslare. It is a level sandy beach right beside the pier.
