  I'm Christian, 50 yrs. from Germany. With my Latvian wife we persue the long- term project of a step-by-step restoration of an old Latvian log-built farm house. Once in a while I'm doing periods of individual work of 1 up to3 weeks where a helping volunteering hand could be useful. If you aren't afraid of fresh air and don't mind the experience of a simple down-to-eath life with fulfilling physical work instead of luxury I'm happy to host you in a historical place in picturesque and peaceful landscapes.

  Our place is 5km in the remote outback so the experience will be less about socializing but enjoying nature and quietness at it's best.
  A visit of the next town or the local ethnographical museum will be managed.

• 

  Arbeit

  You would help with landscaping, pruning, doing smaller carpentry projects, inside renovation, paint jobs and helping preparing meals. Special skills are not needed but welcomed.
  You can learn how to handle various wood work tools.

  Unterkunft

  So far we have a small bedroom which is made available to the volunteer. The major part of the house is still in a state of/ before renovation.
  There is no running water but a well. We use an eco separation toilet outhouse and an improvised outdoor shower (water can be heated). Our only comfort is a fridge and an electric stove.
  Food of your choice for breakfast and dinner will be provided and a daily lunch in the local bistro is included.

  You should respect and appreciate the nature.
  The place is perfect for bird watching.
  Activities like SUP at the nearby lake, archery, bonfires and BBQ can be offered.
  A bus station is 5km away but for arrival/departure I will be happy to pick you up/drop you off at train station Cēsis.
  Internet is available only by mobile data.
