  Beschreibung

  We Jacob and Helena are a Dutch couple of 69 years old. We have a finca in the valey of Los Guajares. Olive trees, avocado, orange and lemmon trees ect. The finca is about 8000m2. We have built our own house and do have a yurt for guests or workawayers.
  The finca is about 10 minutes by car and 30 minutes walk from the nearest village. The village has a shop and a bar.

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  We like to meet people from different cultures. We can tell you about the Dutch way of living. In the village but also about what it means to live in a foreign country. The village does have a bar where you can meet the Spanish people. Your learning opportunities will contain how to maintain olive trees, avocado trees and citrus. What do we fertilize the trees ect. In winter we can learn you how to prune the grapes and how to harvest olives.

  Arbeit

  If you come to our place as a workawayer of course we offer you stay in the Yurt for free as well as the meals. Hot meal during lunchtime. You are suppose to prepare your breakfast and evening meals yourself but we will give you the food.
  
  Getting older we are looking for people who are interested in working on the land, as well as to help with special projects like building an eco - toilet.
  We do live in Spain and the Netherlands for about 50/50 time of the year depending on what needs to be done ect.
  All though we do have experience in building and farming our main goal is to get help and of course we are willing to share our experience. Good to know is that our Finca is ecological.
  
  For now we are looking for help in the first 2 weeks of december 2024. You will be asked to help with pruning the grapes as well as cleaning the land.

  Unterkunft

  You will sleep in a yurt. It has a double bed, dining table and chairs inside. Kithchen aquipment ect. You can heat up the yurt by using a zibro camin. (petrol) There is a small fridge. Outside kitchen. Eco toilet and shower (cold) outside.
  On working days we provide a hot meal around 14:00 hours at the family home. The meals are vegetarians. You have to take care of making your own breakfast and evening meal in the yurt. We will provide the food.

  Was noch ...

  During your time off you can either walk to the nearest village in about 30 minutes or if you have a car in 10 minutes. There is a bus once a day to the nearest town and beach. For shopping we can coordinate transport.
  In a free weekend we can recommend a trip to Granada town and maybe visit the Alhambra.
