  Hello Travelers!
  
  We’re opening up our home in the Swedish countryside, 1hr from Stockholm, (April–August 2026) to a few easygoing, practical people who would enjoy living in a beautiful, quiet setting while helping us with some projects, yard work and maintenance around the house.
  
  The home is a large 3-bedroom house (about 250 m²) with two full bathrooms and a spacious terrace overlooking open fields. It’s peaceful, private, and well-suited for settling in for a longer stay. Across the street, there’s a direct bus to Stockholm (about 1 hour), as well as connections to a nearby town with grocery stores and other essentials.
  
  We’re looking for 3 individuals/couples, or even a small group for a longer stay, at minimum 1 month . The setup is quite independent—we live in Stockholm and stop by every week or two—so most of the time, you’ll have the space to yourselves and can really make it your own.Because of the independent nature of the stay, you’ll take care of your own meals—but in return, the hours are lighter and the pace is very flexible.
  
  A few extras:
  
  * There’s plenty of space for larger groups (5–6+), with extra beds available
  * Pets are welcome if they get along with dogs
  * Large fenced yard and lots of room to spread out
  * Space for parking or even bringing a camper
  
  This tends to suit people who like having their own rhythm—working a bit, then enjoying the space, the quiet, and the surroundings. There are nearby swimming lakes and nature reserves, and our house sits on a dirt road boarding forests and farms. It’s also a nice option if you’re traveling with friends or family and want a shared base to enjoy the Swedish spring and summer.

  Since the property is very well located, you will get to experience best of both the Swedish countryside, with it's typical red houses, sprawling farms, and forest land, as well as Stockholm city life and all it has to offer.

• 

  Arbeit

  In exchange for staying, we ask for around 15–20 hours per week of help, on a flexible schedule that you can largely set yourself. The work is straightforward and varied: a mix of painting, small repairs, some light carpentry, organizing and tidying spaces, as well as gardening, mowing, and general outdoor upkeep. There’s also an old camper van to dismantle and the occasional small project like installing peel-and-stick flooring.
  
  You may occasionally spend time pet-setting our very friendly English Setter, Barnaby.

  Unterkunft

  You will be staying in your own private room, sharing the house with individuals/couples staying in 2 other private bedrooms. There are two shared full bathrooms, and a shared living room/kitchen. Outside is a very large wooden terrace with a grill.
  
  As mentioned above, our property is an hour bus ride directly into Stockholm City Center, and the bus picks up right outside the house, additional fares during rush hour. This means you can easily explore Stockholm and travel during your free time. There is a great lake for swimming about 3km away (weather permitting), and a full grocery store about 7km away.

  There is plenty to see and do locally during your time off:
  
  -Visit one of the many castles and churches dotting the countryside around us
  -Day trips to charming towns, such as Öregrund and Norrtälje (buses available)
  -Play golf at one of the many courses
  -Swimming at the lakes around the property
  -Wild camping
  -Relax and grill on the terrace
  -You can go on scenic walks, hikes and bike rides directly into the forest behind our property
