Ready to learn about the Nepali culture? Want to take part in a wholesome experience and help us make a postive change for a brighter and sustainable future? Live as community inside a travelers hub.

Edit** We’ve just introduced 4 new volunteer roles to help grow our vision. Please read the role descriptions below and let us know which one you'd like to focus on.

    ABOUT

🏡 We started this project in June 2024. We are currently building an organic farm that will also serve as an education center, teaching locals and travelers about permaculture, sustainable living, and environmental awareness.

🤝 This project is community-based and locally run. We are offering regular employment opportunities for locals and working to promote food security and self-reliance in Nepal.

🌾 We believe in Nepal’s rich agricultural heritage and want to help reconnect our youth to the land. Today, too many Nepalis are forced to move abroad for work, while much of our food is imported. We're here to change that — seed by seed.

🌿 In the future, we hope to host retreats, camps, and workshops that bring people together through farming, cultural exchange, and meaningful hands-on experiences.

🌟 Join us in shaping a brighter, greener future for Nepal. Your support will initiate a ripple effect that extends beyond the project.

📅 We ask for a minimum stay of 2 weeks so you can fully immerse yourself and make a real impact.

🏛️ Bhaktapur is Nepal’s most culturally rich and well preserved cities, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that feels like stepping back in time. Known as the "City of Devotees", it’s famous for its temples, woodwork, traditional architecture and culture.

🧬 This ancient city is the heart of the Newa community, one of the oldest ethnic groups in the Kathmandu Valley. You'll discover a distinct language, cuisine, festivals, and customs that make Bhaktapur truly unique.

🚶 Wander through winding brick alleys, watch artisans making pottery or carving wood by hand, and witness daily rituals that have remained unchanged for generations. Every stone has a story.

🧑‍🌾 (Bishwo) was born and raised here, and we love sharing the city and its spirit with travelers. As part of your stay, you’ll connect with locals through our active community projects, charity work, and partnerships with small businesses.

🍲 Our team can teach you a few Nepali phrases and how to prepare our national dish, Dal Bhat — a daily tradition in every household!

🎉 Throughout the year, Bhaktapur bursts into life with incredible festivals, some lasting a day, others up to 10. These vibrant celebrations include music, dance, processions, and ancient rituals. We always encourage you to experience them, and our schedule at the farm may shift slightly so we can all take part too!

🧭 Whether you're staying for a short visit or a longer journey, we’re happy to offer personal tips and travel advice to help you explore other parts of Nepal 🇳🇵

**We require volunteers who can stay 2 weeks minimum **

We are choosing to host volunteers because we want to build a community and create meaningful friendships and memories. We need self motivated leaders who are passionate about the project and want to make a difference.

We have 4 new exciting new roles:

🎨 Role 1: Artist, Painter, Illustrator

🖌️ Add artistic touches to indoor/outdoor areas (walls, signs, furniture, etc.)
🧠 Work with the team to develop meaningful art themes or messages
🏡 Help make our project visually welcoming and inspiring
🗓️ Complete a set number of pieces by the end of your stay
    ------------------------------

🛠️ Role 2: Builder, Carpenter, Painter
Help us build a better future, literally! This role is perfect for hands on volunteers (no skills required) and a interest in construction . You’ll help create infrastructure and improve our facilities.
    ✨ What You’ll Do:
🔨 Build animal shelters, compost toilets, and bamboo structures
🪵 Assist with woodworking, fencing, basic carpentry
    🎨 Paint and plaster walls
    🧱 Support building projects
🗓️ Complete assigned projects/tasks during your stay
    ------------------------------

🌱 Role 3: Gardener and landscaper
Dig into sustainable living with our farming and gardening program. Whether you're experienced or new to growing, you’ll be involved in nurturing the land and learning traditional Nepali methods.
    ✨ What You’ll Do:

    ------------------------------

🎥 Role 4: Social Media expert, Videographer, Photographer
This role is ideal for creative and organized individuals with a passion for visual storytelling and community engagement. Volunteers will be responsible for producing high-quality photo and video content, managing our social media presence.
    ✨ What You’ll Do:
📸 Capture and edit visual content of daily life and special activities
📱 Maintain our social media platforms with regular, engaging posts
🎭 Help coordinate and promote in-house cultural events or volunteer showcases
💡 Contribute creative ideas for reels, interviews, and storytelling formats
🗓️ Meet daily or weekly content goals agreed upon with the team
    ------------------------------

❤️ We value creativity, commitment, and teamwork. Whether you're capturing stories through a lens, painting murals, tending to the garden, or building, your contributions matter. Each volunteer will receive a set of tasks suited to their role and duration of stay. We ask for a proactive spirit, respect for the land and community and a willingness to learn and collaborate. Switching from task to task daily may be required so being flexible and open minded is necessary.

🙏 Please consider that our daily life tasks are not part of the working.
    >> This basically means, lend a hand in the kitchen and help with the washing up. (We all cook and clean in our own home so please feel at home!

We are very easy going, we don't like to add pressure or stress to ourselves or others but we love the satisfaction of completing a task. Being healthy and happy always come first.

We are sharing our life with our volunteers, therefore we always make a video call to know each other better before we meet in person.

    Before you embark 🌎 🇳🇵
Nepal is a developing country. We love to say welcome to Nepal, its an exciting and completely different life to maybe the one you are used to. A few things to consider before embarking on this adventurous journey... the wether in Nepal changes drastically, from the hot and wet monsoon season, to the dry cold winters, each season has its perks, but, (like all places in Nepal) we don't have heating and cooling systems, but we have extra blankets, fans in the rooms, a movie room for those rainy days and a cosy fire outside. There are power cuts (sometimes) usually it will come back on after 1 hour. Our water supply also gets delivered once a month, please be very mindful when using the water. Sometimes the water can run out and we need to wait to re-fill the tanks.

How to get here 🏠 📍
    - From Tribhuvan International Airport (12km):
A Local bus outside the airport directly runs to Bhaktapur, 35-50npr, taxis should cost between 800-1500 depending on the time of day.
    - From Kathmandu: 6am-6pm every 5mins locals bus from Ratna Park, Bhaktapur Mini bus park - Kamel Binyak, Bhaktapur. Get off at Mahalaxmi stop. 35-50npr
    - From Pokhara: 1 direct bus to Bhaktapur departs every morning, please message us in advance if you would like us to book you a seat.
    - From Chitwan: Catch a bus to Kathmandu, then bus/taxi to Bhaktapur
**Tip** If you have a Nepali Sim card, download InDrive or Pathao for taxi/bike services.
