Robyn also had a singing lesson with me which I was very grateful for and I can't wait to continue with lessons back home. Robyn also took me with her and Benji on trips shopping, to cafés and to church all of which was lovely to be included in.
Benji is such a bundle of joy, and it was an absolute pleasure to look after him. He is such a happy and curious toddler and it was wonderful to see him grow throughout my five weeks with them. There was never a dull minute with Benji and he certainly kept me on my toes; I miss him already.
The work was always clearly communicated via a schedule on the whiteboard and they were very flexible with site seeing and switching days/workload around which was nice. All of the work give was very manageable within the timeframe set and looking after Benji didn't feel like work at all.
Although I am not the most confident cook I definitely felt my confidence grow as the weeks progressed and am thankful for that patience and guidance in which they showed me to help me achieve this.
Jack and Robyn are very open and kindhearted people and it's been a lovely experience getting to know them. I've had a wonderful stay with them and I felt very lucky to have stayed with them and I would strongly recommend them to anyway interested in doing a workaway in Switzerland. Devin and Abbi brought such a lovely, relaxed energy into our home, and we couldn’t have asked for a better team. Their relationship is beautiful to witness—they complement each other so nicely and it was clear they worked seamlessly together on whatever tasks were at hand.

Benji had a special connection with them, especially with Devin, who was always up for games and playtime. Abbi, on the other hand, gave the best cuddles, which Benji couldn’t get enough of. We had some great adventures together, including a memorable trip to Liechtenstein and meeting the Furst, which was an experience we’ll all treasure. Their company was a joy, and they were always game for anything. We hope to see them again soon!

After staying a month with this family, we also fell in love with Benji. He's such a joy to be around and we truly enjoyed every moment we spent with him. It was so exciting to see developmental progress that Benji made over time. He is such a bright, silly, and dynamic little boy. We enjoyed taking him for walks, playing football with him, playing in the toy room with him, and experiencing dinner time with him. He always made us laugh and we know that he's already such a light in this world.
The work that we were asked to do was more than reasonable and was always clearly communicated. Jack and Robyn are very laid back and helpful if you have any questions! We would recommend staying with this family if you get the chance, we loved our time with them. They made it such a special time for us that it was quite difficult to leave them. Robyn is a fantastic mum and talented singer, offering to take Chloe out to musicals events. She is so easy to speak to about anything and always made sure we had everything we needed. Even when we both got ill at one point, they made sure we took it easy. We were very well cared for. Robyn is so kind and doesn’t have a bad bone in her body.
Jack is a fantastic chef and had us in stitches with laughter round the dinner table every night. Much like Robyn, Jack is so kind and they are both really good with advice and deep chats if you need to get something off your chest.
Benji is such a special and sweet kid. It’s hard not to love him! We came at quite a transitional period for him (starting nursery and catching every bug under the sun) but we still found him easy to take care of and entertain. He loves going outside, drumming and playing with / eating the sand. Even at his young age, he has a sense of humour that made us laugh all the time - we have loads of funny stories!

… read more blown away from day 1 by how tenderly and compassionately they looked after him and made him feel safe and happy at all times. In general, it often takes us a while to feel comfortable leaving him with the Workawayers straight away, but with Jenni and Andris this happened very quickly. Jenni is a talented cook, great communicator and has a knack for anything she puts her hand to and it was nice to discover some of her "hidden" talents as we spent time with her (I'm sure there's much more we don't know, too) and Andris is an all-round solid guy who is great for a chat and also a very good listener! We enjoyed walking on the charming streets in the old town of Zug.
We enjoyed every swim in the lake and Zug has really creative playgrounds, what Sarah loved so much.

I feel privileged to have also been able to share my stay with Jack's family and three other workawayers in total. Jack's family is simply extraordinary and it was wonderful to get along with them. The work is not difficult and leaves room for initiative, your preferences and skills. You also have time for yourself if you enjoy sport. The lake and mountains offer lots of opportunities. Jack is always up for a swim! We went swimming everywhere! Switzerland is beautiful and Zug is a great place to discover it.
