  Hello!
  
  My name is Julia and I´m married to my great husband Thomas. We are currently a family of four with two young children, named Selina (born 2023) and Helena (born 2024). Family life is lively, sometimes a little chaotic, but always full of love, laughter, and beautiful moments.
  
  We are a warm and easy-going family living in one of the most beautiful regions of Austria, directly above Lake Attersee in the Salzkammergut. We have a breathtaking, uninterrupted lake view and the water can be reached within a 2 minute walk from our home.
  
  We are looking for kind, reliable, and open-minded Workawayers... We are especially happy to host two female Workawayers and it would be great if both of you are fine with sharing a room. Couples or a female and male Workaway team are also welcome. If a male Workawayer joins us, we would particularly appreciate someone who enjoys practical projects, some "harder" gardening, and DIY work around the property. (The best time of the year for that are the cooler months between November and March)

  We value kindness, honesty, and mutual respect. We want our Workaway to feel comfortable in our home and to have enough privacy and free time to enjoy the area independently.
  
  You are welcome to spend your free time with us, but there is absolutely no obligation. Some guests enjoy joining family activities, while others prefer exploring on their own- we are happy with both.
  
  If you love nature, lakes, mountains, family life and authentic cultural exchange, we would be deligthed to hear from you!
  
  
  What we offer:
  - a private bedroom (shared if you are travelling together as a couple or if you are fine with sharing it)
  - your own bathroom (the shower is shared with all of us)
  - a mountain bike you can use anytime in your freetime
  - stunning lake views and direct access to Lake Attersee
  - beautiful hiking trails, swimming spots and nature right outside the door
  - all meals and staple food provided; however, not sweets, cookies, nibbles, alkohol or other "special things"
  - a peaceful and safe environment in the Austrian countryside
  - a genuine family experience and cultural exchange
  - weekend trips and local sigthseeing if you would like to join us
  - picking you up from Vöcklabruck station and taking you there (possible during the week if you are flexible about the time)
  
  We enjoy showing our guests some of our favourite places around the Salzkammergut and introducing them to Austrian family life.

  Arbeit

  Above all, we would appreciate practical support in our daily lives.
  
  The help we envision would include the following:
  - playing with the children and, if necessary, assisting them with eating.
  - house cleaning (cleaning of bathrooms and toilets, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning of windows, cleaning of the kitchen, etc.)
  - tidying and organizing
  - general household support
  - watering the plants in the garden
  - occasional weeding in the garden
  
  In addition to the regular household tasks, we have several exciting outdoor projects that we would love to complete together. Depending on your interests and skills, you are very welcome to help with projects such as:
  
  - building a new chicken coop
  - constructing four additional raised garden beds
  - creating two raspberry beds
  - shrub pruning and hedge trimming
  - general garden improvements
  - small DIY and maintenance projects around the house and property
  
  These projects are completely varied and can be a lot of fun, especially if you enjoy working outdoors and creating something lasting.
  
  If you enjoy spending time with children and everyone feels comfortable together, help with children would also be very appreciated!
  
  It is important for us that you don´t smoke and that you don´t use electronic devices in front of our children or during helping hours. Moreover, please clean your private room once a week in your free time!
  
  Ideally, you would stay with us for 4 to 12 weeks, although longer stays are also welcome if it suits both sides. We believe that everyone benefits from having enough time to get to know each other, settle into family life, and truly experience the Austrian way of life.

  I would be happy if I could improve my English with a native speaker and if my kids could start learning English as well; however, I´m also very interested in other languages and cultures and we are glad to meet people from all over the world. Of course we are also happy to help you with the german language if you are interested.

  Unterkunft

  The house is spacious, and a private room with an en-suite bathroom is provided in order to ensure sufficient privacy; however the shower is shared with us.
  If preferred, accommodation outdoors is also possible. A large parking area as well as ample space on the meadow are available for camping or for setting up a tent.

  Was noch ...

  There are lots of beautiful and unique places to explore; for example: Mondsee, Salzburg, Gmunden, Bad Ischl, Hallstatt, breathtaking mountain lakes, or just the beautiful surrounding nature around our house.
  You can do hikes , go swimming, stand-up-paddling, going on boat-trips, mountain-biking, cycling, running, or just relax at our house with beautiful views or directly at the lake, skiing, cross country skiing, snow-hiking, etc. There are thousands of possibilities available. :-)
