We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic people who would like to help us transform our space and would really enjoy getting stuck into various projects. With regard to building work, we really need people who know what they are doing :-) The work is physically demanding at times, but you will be well fed and your efforts will be greatly appreciated. We are Lucie and Peter, two open-minded English friends (aged 56 and 60, a translator and a photographer/guitarist) who live on a 32-hectare farm in the green hills above Monterchi, Tuscany (between Arezzo and Citta di Castello). 4-5 hours of help per day, 5 days a week, are requested in exchange for accommodation and food. It's fine to help more hours in a day to accumulate several days off, though.
I cook wonderful, real food which just happens to be vegan. You will be pleasantly surprised and will leave realising how easy it is to be vegan :-) Good vegan cooks or chefs are always welcome.
Guests absolutely MUST be animal lovers as we have 12 adored cats and 2 elderly rescue horses (not for riding). We love it when helpers are able to help with the horses, but it is not essential if you are not comfortable around them.
We have wifi, so you can check email etc. We have Italian CD courses you can use, so you can learn to speak the language while you are here. As for us, we speak English, Italian, Dutch, German and French, with varying degrees of success.

Mainly the tasks detailed above. Massage therapists or other kinds of physical therapists would be great too, and good vegan cooks are always welcome!

The accommodation is in double rooms in the main house, one with a shared bathroom and one with its own bathroom.

We are happy to do some driving about, picking you up from Arezzo train station when you arrive and dropping you off when you leave, or taking you to Monterchi to catch the bus to go to any of the other towns, for example. If we are driving to any of the nearest towns, we would be very happy to take you along too. If you do have a car, you would find it useful here. This is a wonderful part of the world to explore and enjoy.

Lucie was very welcoming, and I felt at home right away. The cats were wonderful of course, but also unobtrusive. Not to mention the multitude of wonderful recipes that I got to try, and all the beautiful walks that Lucie showed me! Even if you are not usually vegan you will love the food that Lucie makes, I highly recommend staying with her.
