Pet and house sitters welcome at our finca near Alicante, Spain

  We have a lovely quiet 2 acre place in the mountains near Agost, where we stay as a family of 4 humans and 20 feathered or furred creatures.
  Our house is off grid but we have excellent WiFi and mobile phone reception, all the normal things you would expect from a house and a fantastic garden with fruit trees and a vegetable patch.
  Also a pretty decently kitted out home gym with some free weights, kettle bells, TRX and some other bits and bobs.
  There are beautiful mountain paths for hiking right on the door step and Alicante city centre and the nearest beach are only around 25 minutes by car. In fact, from our position on the hill we have a clear view of the city and the sea. The airport is also around 25 minutes away.
  We are looking for someone (ideally a couple or a family, to share the chores) who would be able to come and spend the summer at ours and house sit/take care of the animals and plants.
  At the moment we have a cat and a mixed flock of chickens, ducks and geese,
  who need feeding and occasional cleaning, that’s a super easy job though and they are pretty entertaining if you like that sort of thing 😊
  There are also some plants and fruit trees to take care of and anything we have planted in the greenhouse or the veg patch but to be fair, those are basic things and easy to to look after plants, no particular knowledge required.
  Mostly it’s just consistent watering and keeping an eye out for pests and dealing with them if need be by spraying the leaves with neem oil.
  Beside our house we have a nice caravan which can sleep 2-4 people and we generally offer this to guests, so they have their completely own space. There is also a pretty shower room right beside it.
  Our house is not accessible by public transport, so, you MUST be able to drive and ideally will have a vehicle of your own.
  The road up the mountain we live on is not fully asphalted, so it’s pretty bumpy and dusty but even a fiat 500 makes it up ok, if you go slowly it’s not a problem.
  We are planning on leaving Spain around the 20th June and will be back in September, so likely need someone for 10-14 weeks depending on availability. Preferably a couple or family so you don’t get lonely here on your own and can share the chores.
  It is not a very hard job but it is a consistent list of chores on a daily basis so it’s easier to share the load in case one person is unwell or anything. We have had a couple of house sitters in the past, ranging from absolutely fantastic to clearly just wanting a free holiday and letting everything go to wreck and ruin 😅
  The animals in particular don’t need much attention in terms of time but they need food, fresh water for drinking and bathing every day and they need cleaning of the coop a couple times a month.
  So, if a couple months in a quiet place sounds like it might be for you, get in touch!
