Their small farm is located in a beautiful small village surrounded by beautiful nature and we had the pleasure of doing some hikes nearby which was very enjoyable. Helping out with your garden made me feel carefree, you checked in often, and then I loved the exercise class and the regular hikes (what incredible panoramic views from Berga!) to stretch our legs, plus some chill-out time by the warm fire afterwards. You really spoilt us - not only with homemade bread etc., but also by sharing so much of Catalunya’s history and culture, teaching us about the human towers, the mountains, and the endemic species of oak tree. Please say thanks again to Conxita for the brilliant Catalan cream and for being patient about learning/teaching each other’s languages. And both of you have done such valuable work across the world, not only through opening your home on every available network and website, but in your development-related careers and travels too. It's no wonder your son and daughter sound cool as; they have clearly caught the travel bug from you and are keen to make a positive difference in the world as well.

And of course all the cooked mushrooms (from the hunt) and other delicious foods - especially Josep-Miquel’s bread - made the stay quite delightful. It was a unique and pleasant experience to hear about my home country (India) from Imma’s and Josep-Miquel’s perspective based on their long association with India/Asia. And the sharing of their viewpoints about the Catalan situation added more scope to the Cultural exchange. We couldn’t have been in a better place: a gorgeous and quiet village, full of landscapes wherever you look. Inma and Josep took us on walks every day to know different hidden gems.
The job is not too hard, we helped Imma get rid of the bad weeds in the garden and planted tomatoes, pumpkins and beans. We also harvested some beans from the organic garden and cooked delicious meals with them. We also cooked a few times and helped with the cleaning of the kitchen. They’re really flexible with the working hours.
We’re really happy with the experience and for having met such wonderful people. We hope this is not a goodbye, so we can come back for more elder juice!
Este fue nuestro primer workaway, y tuvimos la suerte se encontrarnos en nuestro camino a Josep-Miquel e Imma. Pasamos unos 5 dias maravillosos, nos enseñaron su cultura, aprendimos la historia de Cataluña y comimos tipicos platos catalanes que estaban increibles. Sumado a esto, tuvimos la suerte de compartir con una familia, amigos de ellos, de Pakistan. Un encuentro cultural muy enriquecedor, donde probamos los riquisimos platos de Komal. Hermosas personas Komal, Mohsin y su hermoso hijo Alian. La verdad que nos encontramos con el mejor lugar: un pueblo precioso, tranquilo, lleno de paisajes por donde quieras que mires, Imma y Josep nos llevaron a hacer caminatas por hermosos sitios todos los dias.
El trabajo es muy llevadero, ayudamos a Imma a sacar las malas hierbas del huerto y a plantar tomate, zapallo y guisantes. Tambien cosechamos de su huerta agroecologica, y comimos de la misma, deliciosas comidas, cocinamos en un par de oportunidades y ayudamos con la limpieza de la cocina. Son muy flexibles con los horarios.

No tuve oportunidad para encontrarme con Josep-Miquel porque no estaba en casa, pero sus hijos nos visitaron durante el fin de semana. ¡Muy divertido encontrarme con ellos! I spent 10 days at Imma’s place and I loved everything about it! She is a fantastic person and I learnt a lot from her. She is open-minded, talkative and really friendly. The surrounding nature is beautiful and when you work in the garden, there are stunning mountain views. I worked ~4 hours a day monday-friday preparing the garden for the winter. I also helped with preparing food and cleaning the house a bit. Every day (if it wasn’t raining) we also went hiking together and she showed me around the mountains and beautiful viewpoints. I didn’t get a chance to meet with Josep-Miquel as he was away for the month, but her son and daughter came to visit for the weekend. It was really fun to meet with them, they are all such good people. All in all, I highly recommend this workaway, especially if you want to get out in nature and have great cultural exchange. We were originally staying for two weeks, but we ended up staying for 9 days, since they had other visitors scheduled. We worked 8 days out of 9, which is probably our only comment (in their profile they mentioned max 4-5h, 5 days a week) and never proposed a day off until we requested it. To be fair, we arrived at a time when there was a heat wave during the first few days, so we would work until midday. We would also work during the evening (excluding one or two days) We did gardening, cooked, we brought soil from the forest, we mixed sand and cement to help the other worker, and we helped maintain the house as we were told.
Overall, we learned a lot about political, environmental and social issues and worked in a cozy organic garden managed with care by the sweetest woman.
They also took us for a nice walk in the woods when the heat was bearable. And to the beautiful water reserve nearby. That's why we assure you that you will enjoy the stay. We can only recommend to ask for the schedule first to avoid misunderstandings as not everyone works comfortably under the same conditions.
Thank you very much, Josep-Miquel and Imma, we really hope to meet you again some day. We thank you and encourage you to continue with your projects, because as we mentioned above, they are much needed.

Certainly this is everyone's house! we also met Imma and Jose Miquele's friends, from many places and are extremely kind and friendly. This place is a good place to improve your language skills, specially for Spanish and Catalan (They speak several others!).
