  Hello! I live in the peaceful village of Ženik in Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici, Slovenia.
  
  I share my home with a friendly dog, a cuddly cat, ducks, chickens, a rooster and a goat that needs to be milked every morning and evening. The animals are an important part of daily life here.
  
  I have a vegetable garden, fruit trees and berry bushes, and there is always something to do outdoors – feeding animals, mowing grass, cutting bamboo leaves for the goats, and helping in the garden.
  
  I also have a small creative workshop with materials for textile and craft projects. I enjoy creativity, natural materials and a relaxed countryside lifestyle, and I am happy to share these experiences with visitors.
  
  If you would like to experience rural Slovenia, spend time with animals, and help with everyday tasks in a friendly and informal environment, you are very welcome.

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  There are beautiful lakes nearby where you can swim in the warm months, there are many beautiful paths and forests for walks, or you can lie in the grass on our property. There are two pizzerias 3 km away, from March to October at the bus station Sv. Jurij ob Ščavnici you can get very good ice cream. We also have a cultural center with cultural events. Nearby is Stara Gora with a baroque church and a windmill.
  
  There is always something creative happening in our home. We enjoy sharing skills and exchanging experiences in painting on canvas, drawing, sewing clothes, quilting, hand sewing, crocheting, knitting, and weaving. We also create and play ethno-folk music.
  
  Workawayers are welcome to join our creative activities and learn new skills, but there are also practical tasks depending on the season and the weather. You may help with cutting and sorting clothes for reuse, organizing materials, gardening, or small projects around the house. We appreciate people who enjoy hands-on work, creativity, and a simple, meaningful way of life.

  Arbeit

  You can mostly enjoy yourself here. We spend a maximum of one hour in the morning taking care of the animals, if we talk to them a little while doing so, during the day we check here and there if all the animals are in their places, in the afternoon we feed the goats again, in the morning and in the evening we milk the goat, in the afternoon we look for and collect eggs, and in the evening we put everyone to bed. If the dog Miša is at home (not going on a trip with me or if my son is not at home), then she is used to going for a walk in the morning and in the afternoon after eating.

  Unterkunft

  Workawayers can stay in a separate house next to my home, which offers more privacy and independence. The house is in a peaceful rural setting surrounded by nature, gardens and orchards. There is access to a bathroom, kitchen facilities, Wi-Fi and the basic amenities needed for a comfortable stay.
  
  We offer simple and comfortable accommodation with two beds, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Guests who enjoy outdoor living are also welcome to camp in a tent on the property. Parking is available.
  
  A small village shop is about 3 km away. Throughout the season, you can often enjoy fresh vegetables and fruit from the garden, together with eggs and goat’s milk from our homestead.
  
  The atmosphere here is relaxed and informal, and I want my guests to feel welcome and at home.

  I offer the option of washing clothes, but only with natural cleaning products - baking soda, vinegar, lemon...
  There are dry and fresh bamboo sticks available for crafting. Various herbs grow around the house that you can dry in the sun drying room. A little for yourself, a little for me.
  I would be happy to help with fence maintenance, here and there a hole appears and a new bamboo stick needs to be woven in.
