  🇬🇧 Welcome to Tamaon – Pouembout Valley (New Caledonia)
  
  Hello and welcome to our home!
  
  We live in the peaceful Pouembout Valley, in Tamaon, New Caledonia, with a beautiful view of the small Kopéto mountain.
  It's the perfect place for people who enjoy peace and quiet, nature, plants, and hands-on projects.
  
  I'm a science teacher, and my partner is developing a small marine mechanics business. We live on a 3.6-hectare property. We have three children, but only our youngest daughter, who is 10 years old, still lives at home.
  
  🛏️ What we offer
  
  A simple but comfortable place to stay: our son's bedroom is available while he is studying in France. We have our own bathroom, so guests have a separate bathroom, which is only occasionally shared with our eldest daughter when she comes home for a rare weekend visit.
  Shared meals... or not! 😊 We have both an indoor kitchen and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, so everyone can choose what suits them best.
  Plenty of free time to relax, explore the surrounding area, meditate while enjoying the view of Mount Kopéto, or even do some yoga. I love yoga, but I rarely find the motivation on my own because there's always so much to do—it's much more enjoyable together!
  
  And if time and weather allow, we may sometimes go out on the boat for a trip at sea.
  
  🌄 A peaceful natural setting
  Our home is in a quiet, rural area—remote enough to disconnect from everyday life, but not completely isolated.
  We are about 10 minutes from the village of Pouembout.
  
  🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Who we are looking for
  We are looking for open-minded, independent volunteers who enjoy a simple lifestyle, being outdoors, and working with their hands (couples are also welcome).
  During the school term we are both busy with work, so apart from school holidays, we usually organize tasks that you can carry out independently, according to your interests and skills.
  Current projects include helping with general household maintenance, painting, renovating a chicken coop, maintaining the banana plantation, and other outdoor tasks depending on your abilities.
  French and English speakers are both very welcome! I also remember a little German, and speakers of any other language are welcome too!

  🇫🇷 Bienvenue à Tamaon – Vallée de la Pouembout (Nouvelle-Calédonie)
  
  Bonjour et bienvenue chez nous !
  Je vis dans la vallée de la Pouembout, à Tamaon, un coin paisible de Nouvelle-Calédonie avec une très belle vue sur la petite montagne du Kopéto, idéale pour les amateurs de calme, de plantes et de travail manuel.
  
  Je suis enseignante et mon conjoint développe une petite activité de mécanique marine. Nous habitons une petite propriété de 3,6 ha. J'ai 3 enfants, mais seule notre dernière de 10 ans est encore avec nous.
  
  
  🛏️ Ce que nous offrons
  Hébergement simple mais chaleureux : la chambre de mon fils est libre car il fait ses études en France (nous avons notre propre salle de bain, donc une autre pour les invités et ma grande fille quand elle revient ' rarement' le week-end).
  Repas partagés (ou pas ! ;-) : nous avons une cuisine d'intérieur mais aussi une cuisine à l'extérieur.
  Temps libre pour vous reposer, explorer ou méditer avec la vue sur le Kopéto (et faire du yoga : j'adore, mais je n'ai jamais le temps de me motiver avec tout ce qu'il y a déjà faire ! à plusieurs c'est mieux !).
  Eventuellement, parfois, si le temps le permet : sortie en mer.
  
  🌄 Un cadre naturel et paisible
  Le coin est isolé (mais pas trop) et propice à la déconnexion.
  Nous sommes à environ 10 minutes du village de Pouembout.
  
  🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Ce que nous recherchons
  Des volontaires ouverts d’esprit, autonomes, prêts à mettre la main à la pâte, qui aiment la vie simple, le plein air et le travail manuel (couples bienvenus aussi).
  Nous sommes occupés la semaine, sauf pendant les vacances scolaires, donc l'idée est de vous confier le travail que vous avez envie de faire en autonomie. Les travaux attendus en ce moment, en plus de gérer la maison, en fonction de vos aptitudes : de la peinture, un poulailler à retaper, l'entretien de la bananeraie...
  
  Français, anglais bienvenus, quelques souvenirs d'allemand ! Autres langues bienvenues aussi !

  We live a fairly simple life, but we always enjoy good conversations and shared meals.
  Depending on the season, we sometimes visit local markets, go for a walk in the valley, or enjoy a short trip to the sea at the week-end.

  🛠️ What you can help with
  
  There’s always something going on here! Here are the types of help we need:
  
  Take part in everyday life around the house, including cooking, cleaning, and other household tasks.
  
  Land maintenance: weeding, clearing, mulching, composting
  
  Care of fruit trees (especially bananas) and help with expanding the vegetable garden
  
  Small projects in the house (finishing touches, organizing, fixing things)
  
  Creative projects to imagine and build together: outdoor spaces, cabins, light structures
  
  Occasionally, cooking or housekeeping, and fruit/vegetable preserving if you’re into that
  
  No need to be an expert, just bring motivation and a willingness to learn!
  
  📅 We ask for about 4–5 hours of help per day, 5 days a week. Schedule is flexible depending on the weather and tasks.

  📅 Nous demandons environ 4-5 heures d’aide par jour, 5 jours par semaine. Les horaires sont flexibles selon la météo et les tâches.
