Help needed 2024, May through August:
Firewood. Chopping, packing.
Fences. Taking down and putting up, and fixing.
Barn: Full of... stuff. 50/50 treasures and garbage.
Since 2015, we have had nearly 40 workawayers from 17 different countries from five continents. And we have made some amazing friends and had a lot of fun over the years. We no longer have sheep due to predators, and we no longer have horses due to lack of spare time.
So if you would like to help out with this in exchange for beautiful scenery, good company, strong coffee, borrowing a pair of skis, board game nights, and trying your hand at archery, shooting, knifemaking, hunting and fishing, send us a message.
We have a baby in the house, so the socialising will be on her schedule. ;)
We will not ask you to help with any of the business related to the farm.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

Our farm has been in the family since before 1850, and is now owned and run by the 7th generation. We also have cabins and rooms for rent to tourists. The family consists of Ola (father), Einy (mother), Irja (2012), Håkon (2014) and Frøya (2023). Situated in the Rondane Mountains, at the border of the national park, we have some of the worlds finest nature and wildlife literally just outside the door.
The diet is heavily meat-based. We hunt moose, beaver, roe deer and reindeer.Projekte mit Kindern

First of all thank you so much for this amazing experience! The view was insane, the sheep were so cute and I learnt a lot about sheep and horses. The time with you and your children and Ola‘s parents was very comfortable and we had nice conversations :) I hope your father is doing well and best wishes to you all. Thank you… read more

Oliver and Moritz were a delight to have as guests and workers. They were efficient and hardworking, and took every task by the horns. Painting, fencing, and the infamous bookshelfs. (They're soon ready.) Moritz is a skilled carpenter, and they fixed doors and other small stuff… read more
What to say? It was an amazing time with them, Einys cousins and their cute kids (Irja+Hakon).
From day 1 they gave us the feeling to feel like home and… read more
Yuchao is a very polite and nice young man, and a hard worker. He helped out with everything we asked of him. And I think I'm right in saying that there hasn't been many chinese workawayers pulling a bull moose out of the forests in Norway. His cooking… read more
Holly is the nicest girl you could have as a workawayer. She was a part of the family from the start, and took on any type of work without hesitation. We loved her, the kids loved her, and the animals loved her. She took care of the sheep and lambs perfectly, and helped out with everything big and… read more
I stayed at this wonderful family's farm, for just shy of three months- if only it had been longer! This was my first workaway experience, as well… read more
I spent two amazing winter months on this cosy mountain farm. Einy and Ola, their family and friends made me feel like part of their family from the get go.
The work you'll get to do is full of variety. I learned a lot and Ola and… read more
First of all, we have been happy with all our workawayers. Everyone has been nice, hardworking, decent people. But still, Katharina is something else. She has no idea what a "problem" is.
"Katharina, do you think we could tear apart the old kitchen and put in a brand new one, including heated floors,… read more
The work around the farm was enjoyable and relaxed... Gathering the rebellious sheep and counting them without falling asleep :-), fencing, cutting and picking up branches, preparing the cabins for tourists, making jam from neverending… read more
He's welcome back any time.
Einy says hi, and told me to write that you were a delight to have as a hiking companion. Irja is also wondering where you went, so you better come visit us.
Best of luck in your travels buddy, keep smiling.
Ola and Einy are the most funniest and caring people and the two tiny humans Hakon and Irja are the cutest. Me and my bigfoot Ben fellt like a part of the family from the first day.
The work was good because there was… read more
Johanna wasn't just the best worker we could have hoped for, but she became our friend from day one. Feeding sheep, bottlefeeding lambs, clearing the barn, tidying up the farmyard, taking down old fences, shopping, cleaning, cooking, hauling big branches, taking (first class) care of the kids, walking the dogs, tending… read more
