  Beschreibung

  We are an English family who moved to Slovenia about 5 years ago in the hope of a better quality of life, which we most certainly found. We are a relaxed, open-minded couple and very much live by the work hard play hard mantra - we welcome other people who can bring a similar positive attitude and energy into our lives. We have 4 young kids (age 7-10) and a fairly crazy dog, so while we live in a beautiful peaceful spot be warned it's rarely that peaceful :)
  
  We have lots going on so need help with all sorts of things, from all types of building and finishing to landscaping/ general gardening and cooking and cleaning - let us know what you can/ would like to do and I'm sure we could find a place for you. We have now nearly finished the main house which we eventually hope to run as a guest house. Now we need to renovate the neighbouring farmhouse for us to live in while guests are in. Initially this will mean a big clean up and lots of paint throwing around (see pics), and then some construction work (a few walls to be knocked down, a few others to be built). We have also just built a very nice chicken house for our 8 recently acquired hens and started a vegetable garden, neither of which we have any experience in but would like to master to help us live the good life. Upcoming outside projects also include a greenhouse, a playhouse for the kids and a place for a pig - so plenty to get stuck into!
  
  We are ideally looking for people who can stay for at least a week and are more interested in meeting new people and helping out rather than just going through the motions to get a few nights bed and board. We have been hosts before, and have found the people who enjoy the experience the most are those who join in fully with our family life while they are here, being flexible enough to contribute to whatever projects we are working on at the time and socialise with us as well. If you are happy to babysit the odd evening as well then that's brownie points :)
  
  We have a bedroom with double bed available in the (nearly finished) house and for the moment a shared bathroom. We could probably make one of the bathrooms private for you if you prefer. We normally finish work about 3pm and then would love to enjoy good food, wine and conversation with you each evening. The house is located in a rural spot (500m to the nearest neighbour) in the East of Slovenia, near the spa resort of Rogaška Slatina.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for anyone who can help us with our project, skilled or otherwise we really need someone with a genuine enthusiasm to contribute. We need to clean up the farmhouse (stripping wallpaper, painting walls and floors), but we also still have some work to finish in the main house (tiling, plumbing, plastering, electrics) and plenty of work on the land - some groundworks, terracing the land, building/ maintaining the vegetable garden, and building walls/ fences.
  
  Ideally we would like people who are happy to muck in all round, with some household duties such as washing up or helping with cooking where required, or perhaps the odd evening babysitting, but these things really depend on the person and are by no means required.

  We have a private bedroom which is almost finished, just waiting for the final decoration and finishing touches. We have two finished bathrooms which are shared between everyone.
