Informationen
 - Beschreibung- Hi, I’m Mickey, the caretaker and manager of the farm.
In 2021, I made the decision to leave the rat race behind and move to Costa Rica in search of a more peaceful, self-sustaining, and fulfilling way of life. Since then, I’ve been dedicating my time to regenerating this land through permaculture practices, planting food forests, and living more in harmony with nature. I value simplicity, calm, and meaningful connection — both with the earth and the people who come here to share the experience.

 - Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten- You can experience both cultural exchange and a deep connection to the land. Our local Costa Rican team member; Mimo, who works with us five days a week, has been caring for this land for a decade and planted the original food forest eight years ago. Mimo brings valuable knowledge about traditional farming methods, local plants, and Costa Rican culture. It is educational and humbling to work with him. We often find indigenous artifacts on the property, like ancient grindstones once used to prepare corn and grains — reminders of the rich history beneath our feet. Workawayers would cooperate and work with Mimo and Mickey thus learning about permaculture concepts, regenarative and traditional farming practises and self-sustainability.
 - Arbeit- I’m looking for motivated, hands-on people who enjoy working outdoors and aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty. Help on the farm includes building garden beds, planting trees and edible plants, maintaining and expanding our food forests, and doing general landscaping. There may also be opportunities to help build small structures like a chicken coop, arbors, or a drying house. Keeping our living and community spaces clean and harmonious is also part of the daily rhythm. No special experience is required — just a good attitude, willingness to learn, and respect for the land and each other.

 - Unterkunft- We offer simple yet comfortable off-grid accommodation immersed in nature. You'll stay in a private cabin with a double bed, bathroom, and shower — ideal for solo travelers or couples seeking privacy and tranquility. There is also a shared main house with a communal kitchen, bathroom, and a single bed, available for another Workawayer or for group meals and relaxation. Additional mattresses can be provided upon request.
The farm is off-grid, with limited access to electricity and Wi-Fi, available for a few hours a day or upon request. Volunteers are expected to provide and prepare their own meals. While we do not supply daily food, bananas, plantains, coconuts, and other seasonal fruits, herbs, and vegetables from the farm are often available for free — though not guaranteed, as availability depends on the season and nature's rhythm.
We do not provide meals, so you’ll be responsible for your own food. The local grocery store is just 15 minutes away, where you can buy your own supplies.
If you’d like to share meals with us, you can contribute $7/day toward the cost and join in our home-cooked dishes, tailored to your diet, 3 times a day.
 - Was noch ...- In your free time, you’ll have access to our private waterfall and swim holes right here on the property — perfect for cooling off and reconnecting with nature. There are also nearby hiking trails that lead to even more epic waterfalls and hidden spots to explore. I can assist with transportation for local trips, just kindly cover the fuel cost. For those interested in deeper experiences, we can help arrange rafting tours through a trusted local agency, as well as cacao ceremonies and other traditional medicine offerings with a local facilitator. Life here is simple, peaceful, and close to nature — we ask for a respectful, open-minded attitude and a shared care for the land and space. Please note we are off-grid; electricity and wifi only available for a few hours per day or upon request.
