  Beschreibung

  We love our home for its perfect balance of peaceful surrounding in the small city of Kehl and easy & fast access to Strasbourg. Just 200 meters from the German-French border, we’re right by the Altrhein and the Passerelle des Deux Rives, which takes you in minutes accross the Rhine to the beautiful Jardin des Deux Rives park .
  
  We’re a welcoming, well-traveled family with four grown children who have all done some traveling/cultural exchange experiences, so we understand what makes these experiences special. We enjoy gardening, creative projects, and good conversations. If you love the combination of nature and urbanity, cycling, and cultural exploration, you’ll enjoy it here as much as we do!
  
  You’ll have your own private room and bathroom, and can join us for meals or cook independently.

  We enjoy creating a welcoming environment where Workawayers can feel like part of the family. You’re welcome to join us for shared meals, relax in the evenings, or come along on bike rides along the Rhine. We also love to connect through cooking together and sharing stories, so there will be plenty of opportunities for social interaction if you like!
  
  As for skills, we can share what we know about gardening, home improvement, and DIY projects. We’ve also traveled a lot, so we’re always happy to exchange travel experiences and insights about different cultures.
  
  What excites us about hosting is the chance to learn from others. Each guest brings a new perspective, and we love hearing about different ways of life and exchanging ideas – it’s a wonderful way to broaden our horizons.

  Arbeit

  In terms of the help, you’ll be helping with garden tasks as well as some light household chores. Don’t worry, though – we have a vacuum and mopping robot that makes it much easier! 😊
  We’re also working on creative projects to redesign a few rooms in our home, and we’d love your input if you’re interested. We like to work together and enjoy sharing skills as we go – whether it’s gardening tips, cooking together, or exchanging ideas. It’s a great opportunity for some hands-on learning and collaboration, and we’re happy to adjust tasks to suit your interests and strengths.

  Unterkunft

  We provide private rooms with a lockable door, along with a desk, chair, and your nice own bathroom (please check photos). You'll also have a new mattress, fresh bedding, and fresh towels for a comfortable and clean stay.
  
  For meals, you're welcome to join us for breakfast and dinner, or feel free to use our kitchen to cook independently. We enjoy cooking together and are happy to share recipes or try cultural dishes if you're interested.

  In your free time, there’s plenty to explore! We’re located in Kehl, the German suburb of Strasbourg. The historical center of Strasbourg with its famous cathedral is just 25 minutes away, either by tram or bicycle. Strasbourg is one of the most beautiful French cities and offers stunning medieval architecture and charming streets filled with cafés and museums.
  
  For nature lovers, the Black Forest and the Vosges mountains are both very close, offering endless opportunities for hiking, cycling, and exploring picturesque villages. We provide bicycles for you to use, and the tram station is only a 5-minute walk from our house, making it easy to get around.
