  I’m Gabriel (Te Kahuirangi) I am in my 30s and I love hosting people and have grown up watching my family host international travellers all my life. I have also experienced what is like to work and stay with host families too.
  
  I’d appreciate someone who is flexible and easy going and who isn’t afraid of some heavy lifting. Someone who is ok working one day and then be able to occupy themselves if there’s little to no work the next day. This will suit someone who can enjoy slowing down and enjoy the simple side of life. But also be ready to work when it comes!!
  
  I have a modern home with a spare room with its own ensuite. And I am creating an offgrid homestead located an hour away on my ancestral lands in a special part of the Lake Taupō region. It’s quiet, wild and surrounded by native bush and the lake.
  
  It’s important to enjoy being away from shops and the usual conveniences. You’ll need to be comfortable getting stuck in, being outdoors and living simply. In return, you get to experience a beautiful place to call home for a while, and the chance to experience a part of Aotearoa that most visitors never really see.
  
  Best experienced by someone who wants to get their hands dirty, learn, contribute and embrace the slower rhythm of life. The work is simple but requires some effort and fitness. Your work will be rewarded with much appreciation and I’ll provide all the food for your meals while you’re here—breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You must also enjoy being around children.

  - Gardening enthusiasts wanted: any green fingers or people with permaculture experience most welcome! Native tree planting, mulching, land clearing, mowing creating new vegetable gardens: Join us in our mission to preserve and protect the natural beauty that surrounds us by planting trees and cultivating a greener tomorrow.
  
  - Property Maintenance: Help me lift heavy objects to take to take away from my homestead back to town.
  
  - Earth house building: Learn earth house building skills.
  
  - Carpentry: Building projects available.
  
  - General cleaning: Help tidy away meals and dishes. Keep your space tidy. Can also help out with preparing meals.

  Accommodation:
  
  - In the city there is a spare bedroom with its own ensuite in a modern quiet neighbourhood
  
  - In nature there is a caravan that has two single beds or it can be converted into a large bed, this is a glamping style so you will need to be ok with offgrid living. I also have a small pop up campervan. And plenty of space for tents for longer stays and big groups.
