We are looking for helpers. PLEASE READ OUR ENTIRE PROFILE BEFORE YOU REPLY. Read all the way to the end or you may not get a reply. Thanks in advance as I want you to know and be happy about everything before you decide to ask for a visit. A poor man’s paradise and woman’s paradise on the Mendocino coast. Clean air, Clean water, Organic fresh picked Veggies! Artesian well with delicious crystal clear water, Flat land, Raised garden beds, Orchard. Work day is usually 8:00am until 12:00pm 5 days a week. I cook 5 days a week or supply food for you to prepare and you are on your own for weekend meals. We grow maritime area veggies such as cabbage, kale , chard, potatoes,squash, lettuce, garlic, onions, leeks, lots of flowers, etc, Area is very nice for beach walking, fishing, sightseeing, nature communing with large redwoods and much more. Speak English and basic Spanish. No children please.
Because we are at our store all day Saturday and Sunday , stays of 2-5 days Monday-Friday only would be best as a good test to see if we mesh well..., as I can work out a longer stay with the right individuals. That said, all the helpers have stayed a week or two or even a few months. Sometimes we can all tell on the phone that the match will be good.
In exchange for 3 meals a day and a living area, I would like 20ish hours a week or 4 hours a day of general help with whatever you are good at. Weekends are days off. Should you wish to stay in your own RV or prepare some meals on your own we can work out a lesser work schedule. We eat mainly organic meals with mostly vegetable based ingredients, but we are not totally vegetarians. We don't eat beef or pork. We like this to be a mutually gratifying situation for all of us. We like to both teach and learn. This is a fragrance free place. We are very sensitive to certain chemicals and fragrances.
It is essential to have your own transportation as it is many miles to town and public transit is minimal. There is an RV space for your own RV or tent..

Mandatory for all volunteers…You have profile photo and sufficient info about any prospective Workawayers. We speak on the phone first, I will check references, You must have a photo ID. I want to repeat….You must have a vehicle when you visit us. The living areas are private off grid solar powered.....either a sunny 30 ft RV with a king size bed and electric blanket. The detached bathroom is rustic but has a hot water heater, shower, sink and flush toilet. We have also completed a studio that has wood heat, king size bed, refrigerator, stove and Wi-Fi that isn't always dependable. We are not a business as we grow what we eat and share with family and friends. We do not sell what we grow. Workaway has asked hosts to make it clear if they are a business or not. We are not.

I've lived here for 43 years and have vast local knowledge of the area. We farm organically. We have no TV but can get Netflix! Learn to slow down and smell the flowers. Learn to live in a sustainable off grid situation with solar electric and wood fired heat.

If you have your own RV that is good. I have an RV if needed. Tent is good only in the mild months. Spot for RV anytime Dec-Feb is not good for tents.

You need your own motor vehicle here. The sights are endless and gorgeous. We have an Awesome coastline with beaches as well as rocky areas with crashing waves during storms. We have towering ancient redwoods, Orr Hot Springs, Charming village of Mendocino and lots more.
