  Hello!
  We are Brenda and David, a friendly, retired English couple who have been living in the Dordogne in southwest France for the past 19years.Previously, we lived in England, the Middle East, Asia and the United States, and worked in the travel industry for almost two decades. Our work and travels gave us the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and cultures.
  We love sharing  stories, exchanging experiences and welcoming new people into our lives.
  
  We are non-smokers and have no pets,enjoy the outdoors, walking, travelling, history, yoga and socialising with friends and acquaintances.
  Brenda loves cooking and experimenting with dishes from different countries. David is always happy to be the taste tester!
  We have an established  garden around our home, but due to a current hip problem, I'm temporarily unable to do much of the physical work myself. We are looking for someone who would help us maintain and improve it.
  Traits: reliable,self motivated and physically fit , enthusiastic and willing to learn, enjoys being outdoors and doesn't mind getting their hands dirty!
  A basic knowledge of gardening  is useful but not essential. Enthusiasm  and a willingness to learn is more important.
    Some tasks  you can expect: Digging , Weeding ,preparing flower beds,Planting, transplanting and dividing plants, Pruning and cutting back plants when appropriate; Watering , General garden maintenance and tidying.
  We will explain what needs doing.
  
  We live in a quiet and peaceful villagewith no nightlife and no public transport.For this reason, having your own car or another reliable means of transport is essential so you can explore the area independently .If you don't have your own transport, we can drive you to the nearest town Terrasson with shops,supermarkets, train station and public buses .It's a 15 minute drive .
  
  We have previously hosted a Workawayer and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We look forward to welcoming another friendly and considerate person into our home.

  Our house sits on top of a hill with amazing views.
  We live in the Perigord Noir close to the famous prehistoric Lascaux caves in Montignac , Sarlat, Chateau Hautefort , many magnificent gardens , medieval towns. Our village is quiet and peaceful, with no nightlife and no public transport.For this reason, having your own car or another reliable means of transport is essential. This will allow you to explore the area independently and make the most of your free time .If you don't have your own transport, we can drive you to the nearest town Terrasson with shops,supermarkets, train station and public buses .It's a 15 minute drive

  Arbeit

  Brenda needs help in the garden. If you are a landscaper or garden enthusiast, this is an opportunity for you to impart your ideas and expertise .I'd love to get ideas for structuring /planning our garden
  David needs help with general DIY tasks inside and outside the house so if you are a handyman , that would be very useful .
  It is ideal if you are a couple
  
  We ask for 4-5 hours of help per day, 5 days a week, with two days off to enjoy the area and do your own thing.
  Our preferred arrangement is a stay of 1–2 weeks, with a minimum of one week and a maximum of 10 days initially .We may be open to extending a stay to two weeks by mutual agreement. We are happy to discuss the details with you before you arrive so that everyone knows what to expect.

  Unterkunft

  We offer you a private bedroom in our home with a comfortable double bed. Your own toilet and a separate bathroom are located right next to the bedroom.
  You will share our open-plan kitchen and living room,and a covered terrace with a dining table and chairs for al fresco dining and armchairs for relaxing and enjoing the stunning view .
  We have a relaxed home environment and look forward to sharing our everyday life with our Workawayers.
  🍽️ Meals
  We will provide food supplies for you to prepare your own breakfast and lunch, giving you the freedom to eat at your own convenience.
  In the evenings, we normally come together for dinner five evenings a week. Brenda usually enjoys cooking the evening meals, but if you fancy showing off your culinary skills and preparing a dish from your country or a favourite recipe, we'd be delighted!
  We also respect your independence and understand that you'll want to explore and enjoy the region in your own way.
  Couples are welcome, provided you are happy to share the double bedroom and bed.

  Was noch ...

  You will need your own transport to get here and and to get around .Nearest town for shops , bars, cafes is pretty Terrasson , which is just a 15 minute drive .It has a buzzy outdoor weekly farmers market , an 11th century church and abbey with amazing views of the town, and the Jardins de Imaginaire.
  There is a train station there which gives you easy access to Perigeux, Sarlat ,Brive, Bordeaux(1.5 hr away) ,Limoges, and Paris and other parts of France.
  There is no public transport directly from our house , but you can use our bike to get around if you are physically fit.
  We do not accept pets .
