Hi, my name is Mario. I am a nature loving and travel experienced man who decided to escape from the crowded city to the volcano. My wife and I moved to Stromboli from Palermo 4 years ago. We started our permaculture project: we plant tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and zucchini.
This summer we are going to plant trees to make a barrier against salt that wind brings from the sea and also some fruit and exotic trees.
Our target is to make this garden auto sustainable and to increase the production of the land and local products with natural techniques.
The house is built in a traditional Strombolian style and it is only 50 meters from the sea. Our place is a good opportunity to feel the real life of Stromboli island.
We live in a wonderful island. In addition to a splendid sea there is an always active volcano.
Our English is elementary, and we try to improve it by practicing.
We really like having cultural exchanges with people from other countries and we have done it often
Garden help: planting trees, gathering the harvest, work with soil, making compost.
Gathering fruits and vegetables, help with making jams, marinades and other preparations. General help in the house.
We offer a small independent room with two beds, the use of a kayak, and a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea of Stromboli.
We have meals together, mostly local cuisine.
Stromboli can be reached by hydrofoil from Milazzo every day. Twice a week even with a ship from Naples
